Wissa is French African, the players listed have French African heritage, as does Wissa. However, unlike Senegal and Algeria, the African part of Wissa's heritage is from a Belgian colony, not a French one. That's it and I agree that it's no big deal, it was a nothing comment that was easy to grasp. Not you, but giving the least charitable interpretation of a throwaway comment from Haydn (IIRC a Geopolitics graduate or something along those lines) just comes across as performative obtuseness as an excuse to lord it over him.
