The one we have doesn't That simple fact means that we have to get behind whoever comes in and don't compare him to Isak week in week out. That sounds nice in theory. In reality if he blazes the ball over the bar in the 80th minute when it's 1-1 against Liverpool then they go the other end and score with a clinical finish, we'll see how that stands the test of time. Somebody who has a good fitness record, grafts and can make us better for the sum total of our parts. When Isak went missing he may as well have not been on the pitch. If the group are producing who gives a hoot about the individual.
lovejoy
We’re trying to replace 23 goals from last season. Would Jackson and wissa do that? I think they would, yeah. £80m is madness though.

Big Geordie
There's a player there in Jackson, but not for the supposed asking price. I'd also worry about the lad's character - last thing we need is a toxic arsehole in the dressing room (if he is dodgy) I'd rather we went for Hojlund. lovejoy
Data guy from the athletic; Premier League rivals will likely need to pay a premium for Jackson’s services. While he is not yet a polished, clinical finisher at the highest level of the game, he makes things happen more relentlessly than many other players in world football. For a team willing to show patience in Jackson, the potential reward is clear.

Guest
He’s an idiot and highly overrated. Same guy who tried to injure Botman at the tail end of the season?

At the minute we’re not going to be scoring more than one goal in the majority of games as that’s what happens when you rely on your midfielders to score, Gordon up front or big will isn’t gonna get any. Everyone knows we need a forward and we desperately do - we’re approaching do or die territory.

Nine
A player whos potential for growth here would be exciting, but I’d have him closer to 65 rather than the 80 quoted.. Hes a good player already, he’d win the doubters over quickly. Howe would have him moving like a menace in our front line. BUT the contract he’s on at Chelsea likely kills this one stone dead anyway, if true at all of course. Edited August 7, 2025 by Nine
Turnbull2000
This is the perfect opportunity for PIF to demonstrate we matter just as much as the Saudi League by buying overpriced junk from a breakaway six club. What's not to like

If we do go for him who am I not to look forward to seeing what he can do. Botman though, that’s a whole different story 😂

LaurentRobert
I swear all these "transfer gurus" are desperately trying to sell Nicolas Jackson on behalf of their client Chelsea. This is also not a straightforward deal to make. He's on an 8 year deal, Chelsea's valuation is absurd (clearly emboldened by fleecing Arsenal for Madueke), he's on big wages, and he's stated that he wants to stay at Chelsea. I seriously doubt we'd go for Jackson unless it's a deadline day desperation move.

The players knows his place this season is the bench.
Pata
He would be fine for £50m or even £60m considering the desperation but £80m is way too much. Was a good finisher in his last season at Villarreal and the hot headedness could easily be fixed.
