His inexperience shows and I think it will be 12-18 months before we see the best of him.  Think Wissa will be the main man with Woltemade rotating in for this time.

He doesn’t seem confident enough yet to come deep and demand the ball, he did drop deep but stood there while the ball was out wide. He didn’t go towards the player in possession and demand it.

Can’t say how much this was Nagglemans instructions to operate in those areas only. The confidence will come with experience.

In the 15 minutes I watched in total  I did think he remained very central and just sort of occupied their CB’s, without moving too much.

Which seemed odd. As the highlights, the analysis videos and the few bits I saw of

him in the U21 Euros. Didn’t have him as that type at all.

So I’m hoping it is more down to what you’re saying in your last paragraph.

Being a dick aside, his movement will take some work and he may need to adjust to the pace of the Premier League, but with time and patience his upside is massive.

Regardless he’s going to have to get off the mark quick. Debut goal will go a long way in helping him succeed here. Nothing after a month and pressure will grow. It is what it is.

Wissa will start games and Eddie will ease him in gradually.

Almost every player you watch during the international break will look completely different when they’re playing in a team with an actual system and patterns of play.

That's definitely true, but I've just watched Spain absolutely destroy Türkiye 6-0 in Konya. They are so comfortable playing together. Lovely one touch football around the box and a hat-trick for Merino. Nothing like an international team at all.

I think they are nailed on for the World Cup. Streets ahead of teams like England and Germany.

I was concerned tonight. Germany only brightened up after our lad had left.

This is an observation not an ott remark.

Out boy didn't look threatening at all but they brought on two fresh strikers against tired legs with 2 defenders on yellow cards.

With an instruction to be a bit more direct in their running it would have taken some effort to not be more threatening.

International football is so dull outside of major tournaments. It's hard to find any enthusiasm for it and can imagine players feel the same when they've just started domestic league competitions and have pretty significant European fixtures upcoming

Isak was in the middle of a two-year-long goalless run for Sweden when we signed him, and he managed to get a few for us.

I'm more surprised that anyone watches international football tbh - WCs and Euros are a bit of a bore-fest, being so ridiculously bloated, but qualifiers are so completely without peril that they're a complete waste of time.  Just abolish the fucking things, same with international friendlies, and have a tournament with everyone in it every two years.  These matches prove that the whole 'the team needs time to work together' line is complete horseshit - every side looks disjointed and half-arsed.

Wissa will likely start and Nick will be introduced gradually. Best drowning out the noise if it’s a slow start. The amount of shit Wirtz is getting already is ridiculous really. Eddie will handle our boy fine.

The issue is the football organisations want a slice of the pie and only get that via internationals and national cups.

If clubs stopped being so greedy and shared their revenue around more then I suspect boards etc would vote for less games.

Just remembering the excitement of this lad signing for us. How we’d stole him from under a German super-clubs nose and folk amazed at his close skills and ability to read the game.

And then you read this thread it seems within a fortnight in the eyes of some he’s suddenly turned into absolute dogshit, without even pulling a shirt on for us.

Theres some lunatics on here man![emoji38]

Eddie would have rather signed noone if he thought Woltemade was shit or could not cut it/be coached. He will be fine, may need some development/adjust to our style and the league but that's where Wissa helps early on. Not judging him until see him in our system for a sustained amount of time
