Dont know, it is very possible that Woltemade would have still tried to pass it even in from there

True, my point was that Nick did his job in getting into a scoring position with a passing lane to him. The ball just didn't come. The move started with Woltemade laying it back to Sandro who gave Gordon a chase he won. A brilliant counter, we just didn't finish it. Story of the season, if you like.

Shearer would have given a Ramsey a right earful.

Shearer also would have taken the shot if he was in Ramsey's position mind!

It was blocked, but did enjoy him taking a long range effort deep in 2nd half that looked like it was travelling at speed on target. Something we’ve asked for more of when 35 yards out.

Said to my mate I think that's the first time I've seen him lace a ball since signing

Think he's just finding it hard after an initial purple patch. He's a very form is temporary class is permanent type player so I'm not worried at all.

Also seems pretty streaky.

Nearly all his goals last season came in a block.

That’s pretty much the only time he’s scored regularly in his career too.

He drives me and others up the wall like. I don't think i was expecting our record signing to not be able to win a header or keep the ball.

He did play better as the game went on last night but £65mil for him I'm expecting more than just "oh he's kept the ball and passed it this time"

He needs to develop some aggression or he won't make it, the veganism is ominous. Hopefully BDB can light a fire by dominating him in training.

He has a great and mixed set of CBs to practice against in training. Could really help him whenever we get time to train again...

he does, and hopefully we can find some time to train certain players in certain parts they are weak at, because we aren't that far off.

I was going to go into character, but...

Not "I told you so" but to highlight these aren't new developments, he's just inexperienced. I know we struggle with this as a fan base, but he needs time and patience. He'll be reet.

I like the lad but I find him incredibly frustrating to watch, I hope he learns to use his body a bit more next year.

He's got great feet, but unless he can hold off the PL bullies, he'll find it hard to make proper use of them.

I didn't watch the game yesterday. :'(

Well he was a bit more involved last night. Some tidy footwork and close control. Did miss a free header (and when I say he missed it, I mean he missed the ball completely). He also did try a shot from 35 yards, so there's a first time for everything.

I find him really cool to watch because he's unique.

He has a problem to solve adapting to a new league and especially one which is quite fast and physical, but it'll be really interesting to see how he goes about it.

So much is about the team setup as well, like getting the wide forwards closer and in behind him.

Small steps in the right direction. I like to hear that. O0

I'm feeling a bit depressed at the moment. Nick is being criticized very harshly here by some people. To some extent, I can understand that, as he hasn't performed that well in the last two months, with the exception of the Chelsea game. But the way some people here deny him any quality at all is really harsh.

I don't have any good counterarguments at the moment. They were already planning to move Nick to another club if I would just go with him.

I think as a neutral is interesting,  as a fan we don't have too much leeway to find out if our record transfer might work out or not

Well yes and no, if it’s going to take time then we might not have any choice but to back him and wait.

We're either going to have to train him extensively on how to head the ball and hold it up (something you'd hope would already be in his locker) or we're going to have to change formations and play with a 10 which we've rarely done in 4 years

A number 10 who can't shoot or assist won't really do us any good.
