He was only having around 20 touches a game but was pulling off pretty outrageous touches and flicks, first time passes, lobbed through balls etc every game. Pretty sure there's a few compilations from around his first 2 months here and he's clearly very good with the ball when on form.

He's been shit and out of form for months now but I'm struggling to think of many players who haven't? Bruno before he was injured, Thiaw and Hall?

Bet most of those highlights were from the Union SG game

You don’t get much out of a player like this is in an underperforming side, let alone a side that arguably isn’t even very good in possession when they are performing.

There had to be a bigger picture in this signing, he isn’t a natural 9 (although he did well there at first). Hes not physical enough for it, he has no edge about him. I’ll say it again and again, #10/SS is his position in this league. Will we rejig enough in the summer to get that happening? I doubt it.

He will probably continue in midfield next season, and he will look ten times better in a positively performing side as long as we kick on and evolve the style a bit. We must be better with the ball, it’s clear our plan A isn’t sustainable with an added European schedule.

Surely I'm not the only one who remembers his touch to doing something ridiculous ratio here?

It was like 12 games or something of him doing a lot with very little of the ball?

Mismanaged, whole team underperforming, confidence in the bin. Myriad of reasons. People were sulked at for suggesting he wasn't a good fit a few months ago btw.

I'd snap your hands off for anything close to our money back.

I don't see how a team who's used to playing high press and has a speedy striker/poacher even fits this guy in there.

The closest fit we have to a Howe striker is Osula, and he's terrible.

I think we’ll give him a chance and I hope we do. Has a very chalk and cheese kind of feel from earlier in the season when he was dinking it over PIckford away to Everton only a few months back in a 4-1  win.  I think we all said we may have a generational player here. Give him time although it’s hard in he modern game where the money being paid you need things to work straight away

Actually think he would have been better in the second half when Everton were camped around their box and giving us the ball back every 30 seconds.

And I don’t understand taking him off when we bring on Murphy.

Murphy scored and Nick doesn't get anywhere near the box

We usually start to pump in crosses when Wolte goes off, so nothing new there. Its weird I have to say.

He wouldn't be anywhere near them anyway

I can’t help but think if we got some of our other targets - that went to the other sides - we wouldn’t be anywhere near this league position and also writing someone off like this.

We must evolve the way we play to get the best out of him and I don’t we can with Eddie as manager. I really don’t know what the answer is here

Just in from the game. Without sounding like a broken record...

Nice lad, decent 5-aside footballer - zero desire, aggression or passion to either attack their box or help defend our box.

He never breaks a sweat to catch up play or be in the box when the winger is wide.

He's one of the poorest players I've seen when it comes to putting a tackle in or winning a header.

For those saying he gets in great spaces...I just don't see it - infact, I'd say he hides in pockets with his hand pointing as a token gesture rather than demanding the ball or taking the game by the scruff of the neck.

Two other posters hit the nail on the head - bit of a fanny and invisible. A complete waste of money tbh.

But maybe I'm wrong and my eye's are lying - we could try him at centre half next but without the desire or work ethic to effect the game, he may as well stick to modelling - He seems to enjoy that atleast.

Oh and he's still better than Wissa or Osula.

Watched Osula at half time. Spent 15 minutes pissing about - clearly didn’t give a shit. Get shot when we can.

To be fair Isak used to go missing fir large stretches of the game too and like someone said anyone who plays up top for us seems isolated its a system problem

Aye, the only difference with Isak is that if we got him in the game for 5 to 10 minutes, we would usually score

He is the one player you can guarantee that Craig Hope rips apart no matter what. Even at the start of the season when he was scoring, Hope was finding fault.

The premier league have got his number now.  Close him down, rough him up a little and he coughs up the ball.

Watch him with Germany when he has players actually working in and around him. He just does not fit Howe's system and never will as Howe won't change. Probably would be best to let him leave in the summer (unless Howe isn't here - unlikely), problem is your going to struggle to get half the fee we paid.

Let’s see what he’s like next season. If we’re going to use him as a 10 his movement needs to improve. In training I’d give him a maximum of say 3 touches to move the ball on. He constantly gets caught in possession and isn’t strong enough to keep hold of the ball. He was a wasted shirt today.
