He should be the 1st piece of the move to technical possession based football, and we build a team to fit around him. Instead it feels like we'll cast him and that plan aside for more running due to being back to 1 game a week.

I really don't get this 'build the team around him' talk. He's technically pretty good, but I don't think we should be building a team around him. He has obvious quality but I question whether he can do it on a consistent basis in the PL.

Structured correctly he’d be a key ingredient if we changed from the usual play it wide, back into the middle and back out wide as we have been with nothing being created.

Thing is, he was constantly asking for the ball between the lines. That is an area where we have no one and we only play through the wings. There is no point having a player who can create something like that, if our players are unable to play the pass.

One clear goalscoring opportunity made in 20 mins of football.

70 minutes of nowt before that.

4-2-3-1 for the rest of the season with Bruno and Tonali sitting and Woltemade in behind Wissa. The two of them seem to have a connection from the limited times they have played together (albeit with Wissa missing every chance Nick gives him) and then Gordon and Osula on the wings.

Keep Murphy and Elanga away from the pitch

Honestly thought this was Howe’s plan B this season.

Going to be fucking livid when he gets sold in the summer, then Howe gets sacked 4 games into the season, always wondering what could have been.

doesn’t matter. It’s about a different player in a team that is utterly devoid of creativity. He clearly has something.

you can be Howe in or out but I don’t think it can be up for argument that we should have seen more of Woltemade in these last few games.

Except we all know what Plan B is...

There isn't one :)

Lucky for you, we’ll never know if he can do it consistently. He’ll never be given that chance. Because he doesn’t run around like a madman on the practice pitch apparently.

He says this but we play boring fooball and we regularly go backwards when in good positions.

I’d like to think a record signing that hasn’t that great a history in top flight football would have the hunger and pride to show his worth in training.

Team sport is fairly simple, you’re not playing then prove you should be!

Messi, Ronaldo, Shearer, Giggs, Keane all famously shite in training

Genuinely curious, what do you mean by technical possession based football?

Unless I’ve misread the dreaded stats, very possible, in the last 3 losses we have had more possession in each game but have created little.

Would the aim be to be like City? They amaze and annoy me in equal measure… I despise Liverpool but some of the football they played under Klopp was undeniably brilliant and again could be wrong but they didn’t always dominate the ball.

PSG are probably the best team to watch at the moment ironically unless they play us! But we’d need a massive spend to get to their level…

Apologies for the long winded post!

One more than many of them have made for weeks, first decent chance we created all afternoon.

From the cart horse who can’t get in the side. Played out of position, hung out to dry in Howe’s boring 4-3-3.

No wonder it’s attracting discussion.

What about the 1 v 1 in the first couple of minutes or the chance Bruno fucked up from the edge of the box mid way through the first half?

He's clearly not.

So Hall, Tino, Joelinton, Murphy, Burn, Isak, Gordon & Tonali (last season) haven't all improved under Howe?

NB: There's probably more...

Might be something in that.

His cameo's have looked better recently.

Howe and Wolte are a bad match. Nick should leave the club if Eddie remains the coach. He's too good to be on the bench. Furthermore, he'll ruin his national team career if he continues to get too little playing time under Howe.
