Probably sick of our own fans slating him.

Is this even true? The fans were singing his name last week when he was on the bench.

The fans have even tried to serenade Elanga to get him some confidence but he's just shite

From things I've seen over recent weeks and months, aye. Not sure that's reflective of the match going support mind.

My impression from Germany was that Eddie had made it clear to Nick that he was firmly in Nick's plans as a striker. Given his playing time over the last two months, you can imagine how frustrated Nick must be. When players like Ramsey, Willock, and Murphy are in the starting eleven, it only makes it more frustrating. I'm afraid the relationship between Eddie and Nick is irreparably broken. I understand why the fans are rallying behind the living legend Eddie. But I also urge you to try and put yourselves in Nick's shoes. If you're honest, you'd probably be frustrated too.

I don't think Nick will throw in the towel just yet. He's a loyal soul and I'm sure he likes Toon a lot.

Clearly a talented player, got plenty of technique in his locker. Woltemade needs to play either up front with someone alongside or or behind or in the 10 position.

Ask Howe. He made him our record signing.

And he acknowledges that and say he owns that decision.  Has to set it right in the summer.

Bar far the most creative player in our team yet get zero look in. Howe needs to go.

Zero look in? He's played more minutes this season than in any of his previous seasons.

I like this forum but I do wish people would stop talking absolute shite

Maybe, but a lot of them in a position he's never played in his life. We're not all football managers, but it's clear to see he's been incredibly mismanaged.

Nope. He's played most of his time up front. Like 4 games in midfield or so.

Zero look in man. Zero

Pray for Nick.

I still think his stint at CM will serve him well in the long run tbh.

Fair enough, "a lot" may have been a little much. I've just checked, he's played 9 games in midfield according to Transfermarkt. You may want to look in yourself before trying to correct someone.

He has definitely been mismanaged. When he came here, he obviously played much more to his natural game. His stats were good, even though those around him were not playing to his strengths. Howe has obviously tried coaching his system into Woltemade, which neglects his natural attributes. Howe has shown no sign of changing his system to accommodate Big Nick.

I largely agree with this despite being both a fan of Woltemade and Eddie. I think Eddie looked at Woltemade’s movement and decided that that, coupled with his lack of pace meant that he couldn’t play up top for us in our current team. That may change with different wide players but there were other options like changing to playing with a 10 that could have made great use of Wolte, and not having to play him as an out and out striker. Instead, we got the weird experiment in midfield where he’s not really playing between the lines, and teams understood that if they put two players around him and hounded him quickly they’d force him into releasing it poorly or would foul him and not get blown for the foul.

That experiment and the lack of trying to work him into an attacking system has been my biggest disappointment with Howe this season

4 league games. You stand corrected.

Either way, it's not a lot of game time and it wouldn't have been tried out if Nick wasn't already struggling up front. I don't think that's being mismanaged, it's Howe trying something new to accommodate Wolter into our system and play to his strengths; his touch and passing ability.

It didn't work unfortunately, Nick looked as slow, weak, lost and out of his depth in midfield as he did up front

WTF are you smoking? Playing a ST at midfield and make both the player and the team suffered is not mismanaged?
