So we think Howe is going to have an epiphany and totally change the way he sets up his team; putting Woltemade up front and building the attack round him? He’s had all season to do this and has played Gordon and Osula ahead of him.

If Howe stays Woltemade will leave.

Yep. I'm now Howe-out, which I can't believe. But it's the reality of what we see each week that has taken me here.

He has not made good decisions about how to use Woltemade, Tonali, Wissa, Hall, Elanga, Gordon, Murphy, Burn. Everyone has either been over-used, weirdly-used, under-used, or mis-used.

No rhythm has been allowed to develop. Natural strengths have been blunted. Confusion has crept in.

Tonali and Woltemade are totally different beasts when playing for their country.

Gordon has been allowed to dictate terms and pick and choose when to try.

We need fresh ideas and a vision for the next 3-6 years, where we build around the strengths of our best assets.

He probably needs to leave for our own collective well-being as a fan base at this point. Either being shit because he's not as good as Isak or promising because he's the next Harry Kane is quite the range

Nick Woltemade would be a terrific striker if he's got dynamo left and right wingers who are goal seekers. Ie: if he's got a Kvara, Olise, Luis Diaz, Doue type of profile player (to a less world class extent of course) then his ball playing, creativity etc is really good. Those two wide players would need to do the main pressing and Nick's role in that would just need to be less taxing on him given his lack of pace.

Any striker would be better with those two in the forward line with you. I’d look a great striker even

This is why from day one I said he was not suited to us and his physical and speed limitations are why he’s not suited to the league IMO.

He’s like a Teddy Sheringham type player. Probably not even as good as he was TBH.

I'm not sure if your statement is true but you're playing much weaker teams in international football than you are week in week out in the Prem/Europe

Am i just dreaming or wasn't he shite upfront for like 10+ games. Couldn't strike, couldn't head(Except for the OG against the mackems) and when a winger was ready to put a cross in he'd either be sat at midfield or man marking them.

Yep. One of the reasons EH took him out the team was the fans were clearly losing patience with him. He found a place for him in midfield because we lost Bruno and needed some creativity from somewhere central.

The fans complaining about him not starting as a No.9 or being misused as an 8 just like to re-write history [emoji38]

Watched a fair few Germany games this season, as many others did and don't think he looked good for them at all. If you look back through the thread during those games all the comments are along the lines of Germany not knowing how to use him and him barely getting a kick.

I'm not sure at what point the narrative has became that he's now great for Germany and it's us that don't know how to use him.

I like Wolte but there's a lot of rewriting history in here from fans who have turned on Howe.

He's not been pulling up any trees for the national team either then I take it?

I only watched him play one game for Germany after we signed him, and he was invisible in that.

He led them in goals during WC qualifying. He looked lost in the Ghana friendly a few weeks ago though. He should have scored twice but shanked one wide and hit the post on a header.

A strong summer both at the WC and in the weight room is just what the doctor ordered. I imagine there is no one more ready for this EPL season to be over than him. Except maybe me.

Oops. Wirtz had more assists. Corrected above.

After a week of stewing on that lovely pass to Wissa, been thinking was I wrong along?

Still don't think he's that good, he's still too soft, weak and lacks the drive to score goals.

Clear he's not a number 9, maybe a number 10, definitely not an 8, and certainly not a 6.

Unfortunately, we don't play a 10 so I'm not sure he's worth the place on the bench for such a cost, under our current manager.

Still, that ball was a beauty and I hope I'm wrong.

Just think he's been isolated too much when he's played up front for us.

No runners from midfield to free up space for him therefore he has two or three on him like limpets when he receives the ball.

All season we've had to find a solution to use him effectively, whether that be the wingers moving inside closer to him or setting the midfield to have a runner like joelinton or Ramsey playing like 10 in behind him.

But we've done neither and used him as an 8.

Options are limited when he's dispossessed the majority of the time he receives the ball.

I think Howe’s time is up, and I also think he’s been right about Woltemade - I’m more of the view that a football manager should know enough about Germany’s centre forward - who he is paying a club record (or close to a club record) fee for - to know he’s not a good fit.

Ironically I think his best game was vs Chelsea, which was also the last game when he was regular CF - but he never looked right to me in the team, and I’m far from convinced that we’ve got a world class centre forward spending matches getting spelks in his arse because Howe can’t see his genius.

If he starts at the WC, and scores a few goals, that might help get another club to bid daft money for him

Though I think the days of clubs overpaying based on WC performance are long gone - the ease of access to viewing football matches from around the globe (and the generally poor standard of sides at a WC) has buried this

He not untalented - I don’t doubt there’s a decent technical player there.  But IMO he’s not technical enough to patch over all the other flaws in his game (his lack of pace, strength, anticipation, movement etc).

Get him sitting in the hole with runners running off him and he'll be an assist machine.

Stick him up front by himself isolated with NoBrain and Dr. Cutinside either side of him and no midfielders running beyond him and he'll look shit (as would most strikers tbf, Isak was one of the rare number who could still function in a setup like that).

“Normally, Nick Woltemade wouldn’t want to leave Newcastle in the summer. However, we’ve all seen his socials (and, more specifically, what’s no longer on his socials),” Falk exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.

“There is some background to this. There was an article from an English newspaper, and I think Woltemade is aware that the reporter in question is very close to Eddie Howe. It could be that perhaps the German feels the sentiment within the report is shared by his manager. I can say that, perhaps, this is true.

“This is why they could come to a new conclusion about what the next season holds for all parties involved.”

Wonder what report he's referring to. Hope's opinion piece from the other day I assume?

Why can't /dont we play with a 10 given we bought one?

Ridiculous for anyone to make Nick the scape goat for this season.  Without his goals we would be knee deep in a relegation scrap.  Nick is an elite football.
