Based on what? It's a massive leap from his current league to the PL.

Well if he’s a highly rated young player and all these clubs are interested, I don’t think we’re buying him as a number 3 option. Surely he’s backup and potential to take over the starting spot pretty quickly. Not too dissimilar to Trafford.

There's absolutely ZERO chance he comes in as number 1 though, and a small chance he comes in as number3. I just think your statement is wrong

I’d say right now they’re equal, zero chance of 1 or 3. But he would only be signed if we had eyes on him as our starting keeper before too long. I mean, I don’t know but given we don’t have any top keepers it seems likely.

I didn’t think he was just a punt on a PSR project like Minteh or anything, mainly because we badly need keepers. But could be wrong.

He’s more likely to be #1 than #3. Weird thing to be worried about.

Not with Steady Eddie making the decision. He'd need a season of prep to even get a sniff against Quarabag Utd if we played them next season.

Just to save your device from Chronicle AIDS.

"Newcastle United have held fresh talks on Reims youngster Ewen Jaouen - with the 20-year-old open to a move to the Premier League as long as he is installed as No 2 at the club.

Chronicle Live understands that discussions centre on the squad status of the 6ft 6in stopper with Newcastle's summer transfer search adding a layer of uncertainty to talks.

Jaouen would NOT be expecting to arrive from France's Ligue 2 as No 1, but Newcastle's goalkeeper department currently has a question mark above it, and the make up of the rebuild will play a key role in Jaouen deciding his next move."

:ben:

We have Pope so let's say he's no.1, after him we have......  Gillespie?  Vlachodimos and Pliers?

It looks like Pope and the Greek might be off so that would make Gillespie no.1, Tindall no.2(????) and Jaouen no.3?

Makes zero sense, we don't even have one good keeper to keep him out of the team, never mind two

Sounds like his agent is grafting his fingers to the bone.

I wouldn't be surprised if we haven't already moved onto someone else by now if it looks like the agent is trying to start an auction.

TBF him visiting the training ground, if indeed he did, doesn't mean anything. After all it's pretty easy for anyone to visit a training ground, with or without that club's permission.

As Southampton will attest.

Feels like we are being used to flush out other clubs. I am sure we have interest but not sure why we are hearing Chelsea or Real being linked.
