Munoz isn’t close to Pedro, Ekitke or Sesko either by the way. He’s not even as heralded as Yan Diomande.

Eh? It's not about comparing him. It's about value at the profile they all want.

The Diomande comparison is interesting because he costs twice as much and Liverpool aren't in a position to pay that and do the rebuild despite what the daft media print.

Exactly which broadly means not penny pinching when it comes to doing a deal with the selling club and making sure the Agent is happy. Get either of them wrong and it’s then public knowledge and we lose the player.

No shit, we’re better off overpaying by 10% for every signing and just signing one less player per window tbh…

Who did we get before they had time to act? Isak was linked with arsenal for years before we got him. They obviously passed particularly after that last season in Spain.

Tonali. And, in hindsight, that was probably because he was damaged goods and we didn’t know…

@oldtype are you actually being serious about the fiduciary responsibilities of football agents?  It’s one of the most unregulated forms of work. Isak’s rep not teach you anything? The fucking guy was banned from certain clubs. Agents act in the best interests of agents. It’s the oldest trick in the book. It’s bent as fuck.

I do often make the mistake of assuming that others in the professional services industry actually take their ethical obligations seriously. But regardless, no we shouldn't be in the business of effectively bribing agents to act against their client's interest.

You're answering your own question here. There was a reason we were able to sign him. And we paid for it in the form of losing out on a year of service.

Not gonna lie I didn't really know a whole pile about him but it was good to see us trying to get our business done early. Of course another one of these fucking six clubs just swoops in though.

Gonna be another long summer of this shite I fear.

Honestly this shit should make the club close the door on cunts like City and Spurs trying to get Tonali. If you wanna go, go to mainland Europe, fuck selling to one of those wankers.

This is literally impossible. The only way to do so is to buy developing players before the cartel are even interested, which is what we did with Hall and Livramento.

Not the case with Bruno or Hall or Tino or Pope though was it?

Bruno is literally the perfect example of what he’s saying. Arsenal wanted him. We moved more quickly. Or maybe his agent should’ve just waited….

I think there’s a lot of young left wingers out there getting linked with moves, and I have no idea if Muñoz is really a bigger prospect than Moreira, Godts, or Abde. His highlights didn’t really blow me away, not that that means much. If the window drags on and more of these players get snatched I’ll start to worry.

Yes, because two of those players we bought when they were developing prospects that weren't drawing interest from any cartel clubs (Hall we literally bought from one). Pope was never good enough for any of those clubs to be interested.

I don't even recall how much interest there was in Bruno out there when he moved but the fact that we really need to grasp at straws to find even one or two examples of us (or any other non-cartel club for that matter) beating a cartel club to a signing tells you how hard it is.

As I mentioned last summer, we can eat when the big fish are done feeding and get what they leave behind.

Abde might be a goer especially as he's just got injured but he's more expensive

Maybe we should have a third list from which to monitor. Concerned as we really could do without a setback and we’ve got one about 5 mins into the window.

Worth remembering that none of us will never know the real reason.

I mean, it's June. It sucks that this happened but it's not as if we're in August and bidding 55m for Yoan Wissa again.
