'we could miss out on £60m (figure plucked from nowhere), if the buy back is £45m (figure plucked from nowhere) if the clause (that we don't even know is true) is activated (which it may well not be). And the comparison for that is a made up figure on Isak of £70m and would I have been happy with it. Great chat! As I say, apologies for being rude, mate. Edited Sunday at 19:46 by lovejoy

Thats fine. But put it down to a few words, a buy back clause could potentially mean we lose out on a big fee.

Elbel1 Posted Sunday at 20:03 Share Posted Sunday at 20:03 Just to stoke the fire, a buy back clause isn't the same as a release clause. Buy back just means Madrid can match any fee agreed with another club. Release clauses have a set figure that triggers a sale. But, as mentioned previously, if Madrid come calling we'd have to accept that the player would be on their toes, clause or no clause.
RobsonsWonderland Posted Sunday at 20:17 Share Posted Sunday at 20:17 Does a buy back close last forever or will it stop after the initial contact term?

mayubeproud Posted Sunday at 20:39 Share Posted Sunday at 20:39 Real Madrid has already got Vini, Mbappe and Rodrygo who can play at LW and if they want an upgrade it can only be a Ballon d'Or contender like Kvaratskhelia, and I don't really think Munoz is of that calibre. So I agree that the probable reason why they want to insert a buy-back clause is to block any future transfer to Barca. With this in mind I'm actually okay with such clause. MagMal Posted Sunday at 21:19 Share Posted Sunday at 21:19 So have we brought this guy so we can become Madrid's puppy farm yet?, or are we still worrying that a Spanish lad with no connections to the North East of England might fancy returning to his homeland in a couple of years to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world while we make a few quid on him?. The player doesn’t have to just slink back to the club with the buy back clause.
