"Real Madrid has managed to retain a buy-back option for one season in the three-way deal that is about to be finalized between Osasuna, Newcastle and Victor Muñoz , which exposes all those who said it was all a stepping stone for the striker to end up at Barcelona.

Real Madrid never opposed the transfer , mainly because it was a decision of the Navarrese club and the player once the Madrid entity did not decide to activate either the buy-back option or the right of first refusal, but they have reached that meeting point in case what is anticipated happens, such as the definitive explosion of the fast player in the Premier League.

Barcelona was another team that explored the possibility of signing him . In fact, they were the first to inquire about his situation, but if there was one thing the player and his agent were clear about, it was that they had no intention of entering into a conflict with Real Madrid, the club that trusted him to develop and showcase his talent on his path to the elite level , something that has been key to his breakout season at Osasuna..."

Seems as though it's all about stopping Barca from buying him.

I dont see the problem with buyback clause. His not going to be so good that Real buy him back when you look the players they have.

If it has to be done to sign him then we have to do it, but even if he's quality for us but not quite Real Madrid level, they could buy him and make a few quick Euros next summer by selling him on themselves.

Not really. it wont be for less than we paid, if he comes here and kills it and mardid want him, its a glorified loan. all good.

Yes, but if we want to progress as a club we ideally want to earn a ton of money on our successful signings that we let go of.

If he has 45m clause and going to Madrid to be a key player we have lost.

What I will say is I am sure Wilson is no mug and will do what's best for the club

Most likely so, yes. Think all the talk is more hypothetical in this scenario.

Then it makes no sense as they're not protected from us selling to Barcelona after two years.

How? Explain?

Because if he's going to be a key player for Madrid, we could get more for him?

Then again if we asked for more, Madrid could just shrug their shoulders and buy whoever else comes along because they're Madrid...

If he comes in and does so well that he looks well above a 45 million player and he has to be sold for that lower fee because it's already been agreed, that would be pretty shite.

It's one thing to have to sell a player on your own terms. Having to now agree these dumb fees beforehand and stick to them even if the player you've signed far outperforms that value, is ridiculous.
