So basically your happy with us signing players with clauses in so if they prove to be good, the big clubs can sign them for a lot less than market value?

That'll go well...

Hang on, you have already said you'd sign him with the clause, so again, what on earth are you talking about?

I wouldn’t. Don’t see the benefit of signing and training a key player for just 12 months for zero benefit. I’ve never been one for loans which essentially is what you are agreeing (if allowed/true).

You agree that with one club/agent you’ll be beholden forever.

Hence why I wouldn’t of sold Isak.

Fair enough, i'd still do the deal as the £15m profit and a good player for a year would still be a plus, but all about opinions!

Because apparently that is a term of the contract.

Again if we HAVE to have that it in to sign a player and it's guaranteed to profit. Fine profit is profit.

But if I was given the option I would NEVER want that as I want to keep our best players.

Where you getting £15m profit from? I was reading £30m which sounds the same as what we are paying for him.

Let's see what the buy back fee is like. Hopefully it isn't some cheeky value.

Otherwise, shouldn't really be accepting this sort of thing. Would leave them to it and go and sign someone else.

God only knows, the whole thing is hypothetical, i replied to someone who said £45m clause, you replied to me. Think that's it!

Well what are you on about then?

You said you're fine with it as is?

Would you rather have him for a year and £15m profit?

Or would rather there was no clause and he's just our player?

Which is it for you?

Are you all there?

If (and it is an if) we can only sign him with a clause, sign him, it is still a win if this hypothetical situation came up.

You apparently think the same. We agree.

Every man and his dog would rather do the deal without a clause, who wouldn't? That goes without saying. But it doesn't appear to be the case, does it?

That was someone talking the piss, nobody knows what the actual buyback is.

What’s the issue with this? The worst case scenario is that we effectively get a one year free loan, and we’re presumably getting a significant discount on the initial transfer fee because of that possibility. Plenty of scenarios where Real Madrid elects not to exercise the clause.

Why is everyone believing this buyback lie ?

it’s absolute fabrication

Literally zero chance we sign a player to sell back to Madrid a year later (with the clause)

As others mentioned , If Real Madrid want him back in a year they could have him , but at the correct/ New sale price

Was thinking the same. One journo that I (and probably everyone else) had never heard of said it, that’s it.

In that scenario we'd be losing one of our better players for £15m and having to replace them.

Go on, how? Why would it be a £15m total fee now?

In fact, don't bother. the whole thing is hypothetical and utterly pointless. I replied to someone saying £45m clause and now utterly regret it [emoji38]

No no.

You're down the rabbit hole now!

Might as well see where it goes... 🤣

Folks should think of it as smart PSR management. We need to find a way to reduce the fee spend this summer to plug a lot of holes with limited funds, so we’re looking at players with weird contractual situations that will depress the initial fee. It’s fine if that means we make less of a profit on transfers later. We’re sacrificing money later for money now.

Just remember what Ross Wilson did re Anderson/Elanga 😁 If we get this lad it’ll be a good deal that suits us.

If Isak had a buy back clause for 70m would you be happy?

But he didn't, so what is the point in asking that?

You came up with this £45m clause thing, where did you get that figure from?

And if that is true, would you do the deal, or not? I would. You?
