I'm probably going on about it too much, but I can't help it, it's doing my head in [emoji38]

Seriously mate, I think you’re spot-on.  Spanish football has been boring every fucker to death for two decades.  Take the most technical footballers possible and dictate that they pass the ball sideways for 85 mins.

It doesn’t mean Spain won’t win it - they lost the opener to the Swiss in 2010.  Just feels satisfying.

Spain have failed to win their opening match in four of the last five World Cups now

Not really true with this Spain usually, far and away the most entertaining football in the last Euros. And the 2010-2012 champions were a decent watch imo.

The 2012 Euros winners weren’t too bad a watch - the 2010 WC winners were dull.  Not a single memorable match / performance.

2010 were the single most boring side in my lifetime tbh

I love watching live sport around 10-1ish, it's one of the main reasons why the US Open is my favourite tennis grand slam, so I'm loving the 11pm ers. There's been a few upsets and surprise results already, so hopefully the Saudi's can at least make a game of it from a more neutral perspective.

2am is too late on a work night, so I'll record the Iran match and get up at 8 and watch before starting work (WFH), without knowing the score. I've managed to watch all the matches thus far, but I'm back in the office on Wednesday, unfortunately, so the streak will end then.

This more recent thing of players going down in a screaming heap, only to be back up running full pelt within 30 seconds needs a crackdown like

They have to stay off a minute if the physio comes on now (if it’s not deemed a bad foul). Has worked canny well imo.

Didn't know that or notice it was happening actually, interesting. Just reacting to a KSA player screaming like he was stabbed a few mins ago, didn't see a physio like. He just got up and started running almost immediately.

Aye Caicedo was doing his nut yesterday as the physio came on too quick so he had to go off even though he was fine.

Caicedo went crazy off the pitch, almost looked like he didn’t know about the rule or the ref had called the physios to come check on him. Certainly a nice rule change, most games don’t have physios at all.
