Paulie Walnuts
SSN has just reported that Roeder has said there will be no further activity by Newcastle in this transfer window. Bollocks, it beggars belief!
Ally
Aye was just about to post that. Fucking ridiculous.
Guest elbee909
Are you sure it beggars belief? Pretty obvious stuff if you ask me.
Dave
No surprise. Still disappointing.
Yorkie
Absolutely disgraceful to be quite honest.
NUFC06
Not what i expected but still im not surpised Im curious what will Roeder say if Martins gets injured the next game???
Karjala
The thing is, we are basically safe now, so if Martins got injured, we'd be crap for the rest of season, pick up a few points, and finish around 15th. Problem is, if he had signed a couple of decents ones, we'd be really pushing for the Uefa spot... If Martins stays fit, and we get players back, we still have a good chance of a Uefa spot, tho personally i think we'll fall short. Disapointed, but, if it means we have money in summer, then so be it.... but our transfer activity (or lack of it) next summer, is another story. Ally
I'm sure he could have got a left back in, even as stop-gap. Warnock? Even that Bruno fella that Blackburn signed, never heard of him but he can't be any worse for 5 months than Babayaro.
Dave
Wonder whether Roeder had Shepherd working during this match, and things fell through. Or perhaps after winning Roeder informed Shepherd that he thought we were pretty much safe as Karjala says, and they decided to leave it all until the summer. Baggio
I'd rather him wait until the summer to get Davies than panic buy someone else tbh.
Unlucky Luque
Shaun Maloney is now in Newcastle agreeing terms subject to a medical and Villa are meeting Celtic's £700,000 asking price. If Villa wish to sign him this transfer window the deal hinges on Villa meeting the £700,000 or getting him in May for nothing Other news Celtic have allowed 22-year-old reserve-team captain Paul Lawson to join St Mirren until the end of the season http://www.randalstowncsc.co.uk/modules/news/article.php?storyid=
Paulie Walnuts
Going over old ground I know, but this is gross mis-management. If we put all our eggs in one basket to sign Owen even though it left us short, the person who sanctioned that should go. We have the situation where so called lesser teams are buying players left right and centre and we bring in one loan signing despite being desperately short of players. It's also farcial that we are having to field half a first team made up of kids whilst an expensive crock sits at home. Frankly we didn't have the financial clout to buy Owen we should have bought within our means and spent modestly to improve the whole team rather than put all our eggs in one, injury prone, basket. This is no way a pop at Owen, but the purchase of him was irresponsible to say the least. Roll on the summer window, we'll be promised all sorts, but end up with excuses. M4
Meh. Not that big a deal, would rather they came out and said this than serve of another mouthful of Geordie Nation and couple of panic buys.

Nobody has claimed we should be big spenders like we used to be unless i've missed it.
