Guest brewer
Ferdinands unfortunate he's born in a country where a classy interception is seen as a lesser peice of defending than a pointlessly vigourous sliding tackle.

tmonkey
Why is it that Gerrard regularly gets called one of the best midfielders in the world, yet consistently on the bigger stages hes looked vastly inferior to those who are considered his "equals"? When on the same pitch as the likes of Xavi, Deco, Kaka, Riquelme, etc, Gerrard is simply shiite in comparison.

Guest ticaL
I'll just name some players, as I don't know if I could narrow it to a starting XI or squad of 16. Buffon/Cech Terry/Cannavaro/Nesta/Puyol/Gallas/Zambrotta/Ramos(at RB)/Toure/Heinze Ronaldo/Gattuso Pirlo(Combo)/Gerrard/Ronaldinho/Kaka/Xavi van Nistelrooy/Henry/Drogba(On Current form)/Eto'o/Crespo Pretty much my deduction, although it's hardly an XI. It's really unfortunate, because the reason consistently fantastic preformers like Gerrard get slated sometimes is because their consistency makes the occasional choke-up all the more memorable. That's definitely the case here. I honestly don't even remember the specific game in which Gerrard showed himself to be "inferior" to his continental counterparts, but perhaps there has been one or two occasions that are skewing people's views. The man's won the Champions League, for pete's sake. I guess we'll find out the truth come March when he squares off again Barca. I honestly believe that out of all English footballers, only Gerrard, Ferdinand, and maybe Rooney would walk into just about any side in the world. You may quote me on this. GeordieDazzler
materazzi - you people really surprise me at times! Why not? He's an absolutly brilliant defender. Are people so mentally scarred by that 5 minute youtube video? That Zidane rubbish aside, he played a massive part in Italy winning the world cup both defence and attacking wise (He holds the record in Italy for the most goals in a season by a defender). He makes a few nasty tackles and is an out and out WUM but its all in the game as far as I'm concerned. If people can get past their dislike of the person they can surley accept he is a top class defender.

Guest Li3nZ
Ferdinand. Honestly, people who don't recognize that Ferdinand are class are just bending over backwards to slate England players tbh. THe opinion of the silent majority, no doubt about that. The people who slate Ferdinand's talent are the loudest naturally!
Guest Li3nZ
How people can have players in these stupid imaginary line up's that have never proven themselves at International level puzzles me. It's like sticking Rat Boy Phillips in there a couple of years ago based on domestic performances. David Villa should never be in these line ups gents.
