Decisions on st James and the potential new training ground site moving at glacial levels of speed

You’d imagine with the new Chief Operating Officer these decisions will be getting looked at again

Aye, work round the corner from it, starting to look decent and not the slapdash shite that people were whinging about on here a few weeks back. 😂

Aye, never got our fans kicking off about the how shabby it looked. Of course it did, they are in the middle of constructing it.

Going on as it it wasn’t going to be painted even when it was marked up for being painted and how the region has had half a dozen of these dotted about where everyone has seen how they are constructed.

They’ve kept it the same colour as the stadium lower wall too at the Gallowgate. When looking from the ‘town wall’ (not the bar) it looks good that they’ve matched it.

Wonder if it was someone sending a balloon up to see what the reaction was.

100%

And what has the reaction been to the 3/4 scenarios?

Majority want to remain at SJP but would like to see a more extensive rebuild.

The idea of moving may not present as much opposition as first thought.

Their preferred option will fully depend on the budget available. Are Reubens/PIF going to chip together more than 1bn to do this? That’s probably what it’ll cost.

That for me would be the biggest sign of how long term their plans are.

It was Desailly he shrugged off to score that banger back in 2001/2002ish wasn't it? Outrageous goal that, just out-muscles one of the best CBs on the planet and twats it in from about 25 yards.

We get shipping containers until a report comes back on what we can do with SJP, to assess if demand stays high, until Euro 2028 is over, and to go through what will be a lengthy planning application phase.

Make no doubt about it, if we touch SJP, heritage England will be there waiting for us to block whatever we do because of Leazes Terrace. They are very good at trying to block planning applications and appealing them, not very good at actually preserving historic buildings, or assisting in the refurbishment though.

Also I doubt Jacksonville’s stadium will be a historic home in the centre of the city. It’ll be in vast tracts of empty space on the fringes of the city with massive parking lots and only stadium facilities where you can buy bait and booze. Like comparing apples and oranges.

Had a look - basically like sticking it in the flyover at Gateshead:
