Stifler
Just develop and expand the Gallowgate. Have a hotel and what have you. If that goes up before any expansion to the Gallowgate, dont see how you could ever expand it again in the future. It's claimed by all parties involved before any development would still allow for the ground to be extended on that side. Even now, if Ashley builds on it himself as is being reported? If we could still build on it, why were NUST kicking up such a fuss then? Nexus asked for a section not to be developed over because of their tunnels, any expansion of SJP would require the land on the undeveloped side of the Metro lines. This was made clear at the open consultation they had for the plans. I believe Nexus still owns some of the site, so it's request is a little more than a polite request. I can't see Nexus suddenly allowing development over their tunnels for a new development less than a year down the line. I'm pretty sure the case will automatically be that they will still be a chance for SJP to be expanded in future.

Scoot
Not as bad as first thought then in terms if future expansion. Even if they do develop on the land.
mrmojorisin75
Thing is with this he can just give the land to himself can't he, and take it away as an asset from the club? Classic MA move, gets himself some prime city centre land to develop and fucks over the club he hates in the process.

He's taking it from himself and giving it to himself, as uncomfortable as it sounds, it's the reality of the situation. And the metro tunnels are really not an issue, probably makes some of the engineering a bit more expensive, but its no real hindrance to development. It was first used by Freddie Fletcher as an excuse in the mid 90s and it was as much of a mistruth then as it is now.

It's all well and good if 'the club' were developing it and getting the revenue from hotels and such like other clubs have done but this will be Ashley's thing and when he fucks off he'll take it with him. Interpolic
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/theres-no-point-expanding-part-9917561#ICID=FB-Chron-main Some laughable comments. So many of our lot really do support the balance sheet these days, and have some curious obsession with Ashley getting his money's worth.
sbnufc
The stadium should be expanded, but in good time. I do believe it'd be stupid doing it now (well, near future obviously). No doubt some people who think we should exand now are some of the same people laughing at West Ham moving to the olympic stadium because they "can't fill it"

Wallsendmag
That's class, but £300. I'd be devastated if I paid 300 quid for that and the bairn took it to bits when I wasn't looking.

Interpolic
It's not really a rip-off like, must take them a while to put one together and considerably longer to design it in the first place. I want one.

Minimalistic, a great little design and nicely framed. Italia 90 was just before I got into football so not nostalgic about it, but had I been I could see that being something I'd fancy. Guest
Guessing in the next 5-6 years we'll be down to around 9th in terms of stadium size? (Man U, Man C, Arsenal, West Ham, Liverpool, Chelsea & Spurs?)
