Loads of people park down that way anyways. There’s a metro to Central and there’s still a line that runs behind it….could have its own stop and everything. Would a stadium fit though? I thought the arena site was ruled out because it’s earmarked for building and too small?

I’ve heard it before, but I thought it was more of a Geordie Nation type thing. The distance from the bus station is a wild reason against though. 😂 Our whole future decided on whether a handful of people can get the 10.20pm bus to Cramlington when we have a night match. The last train north at the moment is before 10pm. No-one I’ve ever met. Wet blanket Hornby-wannabe George Caulkin loves that type of patter - I suspect it comes from him. Newcastle has two cathedrals already.

Thank me later, x Those of us from the west end know that, as good an idea as this is, this would actually require serious public money being spent in the west end. Which is obviously not allowed. The issue would be getting to the old Scotswood station from Central. Of course this would mean that the line would be a fair way away from the Fenhams and Chapel Houses of the world. bobbydazzla Posted Sunday at 22:24 Share Posted Sunday at 22:24 Upside of Wilson being injured is that we haven’t had to listen to DJ Onedek spin DJ Fucking Otzi for months And agree, Hey Jude is fucking awful One of my youngins is 13 and has been to 5 or 6 matches recently. Dr Venkman Posted yesterday at 07:21 Share Posted yesterday at 07:21 Why is there so much talk about the arena site? Is it not actually the site of the arena or something? To be clear, I’m talking about the arena that is currently open and has no definite timeframe to be closed, nevermind demolished.

People are just making links. It started with us consulting with people who are building Everton’s stadium, which people decided to add 2 and 2 together to get 5 and think that means it’s going to bear water. In reality we will be consulting with them because they are building the newest stadium in the Premier League and we’ll want to know what they would do differently, and what to expect. We’ll also be consulting with people who built Spurs’ stadium, as well as other across the world. The Waugh article where he mention it as 1 of 2 potential city centre sites also plays a part in people discussing it.

Just for #bantz because we’re all bored waiting on some proper news from the club And it’s a large site in the city that will hopefully soon be vacant when they bulldoze the horrible metal shed, so why not fantasise Edited yesterday at 07:50 by bobbydazzla
Groundhog63 Posted yesterday at 07:54 Share Posted yesterday at 07:54 Parked up near the cat & dog shelter yesterday and walked through Leazes Park to the ground. Dad and his kid having a nice, jolly, walk over the ice to the island and then 3 students plucked up enough courage* to copy them. Nobody more in tune with nature/nostalgia than I. Absolutely woke af me but that whole area, including a reclaimed and flattened St.James' footprint could be a wonderful asset to the city. I'd be up for it even given the dereliction of our open spaces is another, deliberate, result of political austerity ideology. * insert rank stupidity

The construction on the new arena has stopped and shows no sign of restarting soon, and the current arena is currently operating with no timeframe to close. The owners have just spent a lot of money refurbishing back of house including the dressing rooms, etc. I’d be surprised if anything happens there unless we’re looking at opening a new stadium in a decade. That said, money talks, so there’s always a way.
