anyone who committed to a long term deal under Ashley clearly do not have the clubs best interests at heart.

should make them pay double and call it a scab tax.

before any Ashley apologist snowflake starts crying, hehe I’m only joking!

Safety only joking detected.

The bloke I was sat next to who pays £19 per game felt the club should offer people like him some form of ongoing discount

I'm not slagging the bloke off, he was a very nice fella, but he was of the opinion that going straight from 10 year freeze price to standard prices wasn't fair

I'd say he's very much an outlier.........and probably a reform voter.

Newcastle season ticket holders must be among the luckiest 1% of the population. Probably about 500 people who would step in for each one that would walk away.

Not that I want people priced out of course, but that discount price for PL football was never going to last.

tCue Look North interviewing Tony "Newcastle United" Armstrong who moved house to ensure a seat at SJP to cheer on the lads

This is the sort of commitment everyone should have. They should announce that all season ticket holders MUST live in an NE postcode and give people one summer to move house or fuck off

Mike tickled a lot of people, allegedly.

I always think of that daft twat who used to sing in Idols - Alevis Broon - whenever someone mentions Mike Neville

'Yee look like a Geordie ... waak like a Geordie ... taak like a Geordie ... but I got wise; you're Mike Neville in disguise, oh yes you are, Mike Neville in disguise'

I bet our fans couldn't believe their eyes when Gazza showed up in those pretty lean times.

Aside from the appearance of KK, Waddle, Beardsley and Gascoigne, 1977-92 were the drabbest years in our history. The club had no money and the boardroom divided, traditional industry shutting down with resulting sky high unemployment, decrepit stadium, hooliganism and racism rife, plummeting attendances.

Still better althan the Ashley years of torpor and torture...

I get what you mean but oddly those times we had our 3 best players in succession with Waddle, Beardsley and Gazza.

Next in line Bogie sadly didn’t live up to the hype…

Gazza was who I remember when I started going as a kid - watching him sat on my dad’s shoulders (which is painful on your arse, even as a little ‘un).

Beardsley was the better player, mind.

Standing in the Gallowgate at home to Villa, can’t remember the year, Beardsley shuffle at the edge of the area and drilled into bottom corner, best player in my lifetime bar none.

Nar, Gallowgate was all-seater then and I'm sure it was against Boro that?

That was Middlesbrough when his son was a ball boy. Thought of that one but think he must've been talking about an earlier one.

Was the Gallowgate still standing while they were working on it the earliest PL seasons? I know his son wasn't born yet during his 80s spell.
