Superior Acuña
Was in the returned away seats today and, fuck me, it's such a striking view. Never seen anything like it in all the other grounds I've been to. Not passing judgement on what's actually best, but think a Gallowgate expansion with the East as it is would *look* class - still view of the city, big imposing stadium. But most documents at that stage would be treated as commercial in confidence; and there would be zero reason to show them to a random who happened to be a lawyer. Unless he has a pal in one of the design team’s offices who likes sharing stuff - an architect, engineer or QS - then the odds are he’s talking out of his backside. You could incorporate that view into a new stadium. Have a section cut away with a panoramic view of the city with the Tyne Bridge as the centrepiece. Would look class. Think it’s decent up there, stood all game, great view.

I sat in LV7 for a few years and it's a great view of Newcastle and Gateshead (especially when the game are shite).

You're not there to look at the scenery, you're there to watch a football match. People whinge on about a new stadium being soulless yet there's no more soulless experience than being stuck up in Level 7 with a better view of the city than the match, and believe me I've had plenty of experience. And please nobody even embarrass themselves by mentioning that we'll lose the atmosphere after today. Place needs a bloody good shake up and a new ground is the easiest way to do it. Hopefully some of the dead wood take a huff and piss off.

Because when go to a football match I'd rather look at said football match rather than admire the views of Walker or Gateshead? If that's the case then aye I'm weird

I'm not irate at all When I look straight ahead inside a football ground I prefer to look at like minded football fans rather than the Byker Wall, that's all. Believe it or not I was there during half time and before the match too where I wasn't analysing the warm-up. I noticed the view. I could see the match just fine from Level 7 too, a lot better than at Spurs' new stadium. This is a thread about the stadium, and sometimes I notice things about the stadium. You shouldn't even be noticing you had a better view of the city, your eyes should be firmly fixed on the pitch like a proper fan. Besides, it was a lot less souless for me up there in L7 than it has been in any of my games in the lower Leazes. The atmosphere was once again dead today and in parts of L7 your 1/4 mile from the centre circle. Sometimes when you're that far away from the action your concentration can wither somewhat I find and I speak from plenty of experience. I just find that I feel detached from it all when I sit up there. Agree the Leazes End is dreadful as well. In fact I'm struggling to think of any positives for the argument to remain at SJP.
