In terms of location you cannot really ask for more, it’s as close to rebuilding on the same site as you can get, also leaves room for future development if required.

Also like how it will still be on the city skyline.

I’d be dissapointed if we fall short of a 70k capacity. The location is fair with me, although so have concerns over the bandstand terrace of Leazes Park.

The rest of it comes down to details really, what exactly it will offer, and what it will look like.

I think whatever what it is, it will likely be a lot more acceptable to a Gallowgate extension that still leaves the rest of the stadium with a lot to be desired about.

Yeah exactly my thoughts. First thing I looked for was the capacity and was underwhelmed with it being under 70k. I was hoping 75k-80k but overall it does look exciting. Can't wait for further plans to be released 👍

Yeah, ai’d accept 70k to be honest, but just under just seems like they should have just added an extra row around it.

Took Spurs about 10/11 years from announcing to opening the doors of their new stadium.

I fear we’d have a similar timeline.

Yeah, quite possibly.

I have always said that I think we are 6-10 years away from a new stadium.

We are still probably 3 years away from spades on the ground.

Just hope PIF have the balls unlike John Hall to ride out the planning process, the majority of Tyneside will want this stadium, but there will be a very vocal minority of Swampys, mackems and anti Saudi brigade who will kick up a stink.

The other proposal which includes leaving the East Stand largely untouched, just doesn’t cut it if where looking to be best in class.

The East Stand will need demolished like the flyover before long.

Still find this view/tone quite obnoxious.  Fans are allowed to have the opposing view without being told they're not seeing sense.

Fans are allowed their view, but the ‘I’ve got my season ticket and I’ll not move despite it keeping others out, and holding the club back’ is allowed to be called out for what it is.

One reason why I think they might opt for redevelopment of SJP/Gallowgate.

If they didn’t want to commit to a brand new build and all the challenges that will come with it.

Hopefully this plan is announced soon by the club, this could be a real catalyst for both the club and the city. A whole regeneration of that area.

This, and the majority of the rest of the stadium will only be 20-30 years behind it.

I don't have a season ticket. I'm opposed to it.

I’d say it’s up to the fans and the citizens of Newcastle, and Tyneside to be doing all they can to put in letters of support, even sharing an online petition in support.
