Let’s be fair here, maybe they had ownership shown plans and sat on making a decision about making a decision for close to a year.

Well for a start, it was first announced six years ago, so Forest fans have had to wait longer than we have for any sort of progress, and it could be another three years before the project starts. The scheme is entirely uncontroversial - just replacing a decrepit old stand with a modern one. Meanwhile there are basically no meaningful constraints to prevent it from happening (at least compared to our situation), unless you feel strongly about car parks. There's a boat house they need to knock down but they're providing a replacement elsewhere for that. Hardly Leazes Terrace.

 

Honestly, you're just winding yourself up for the hell of it with these comparisons to other clubs' schemes. They're nothing like our situation.

I do wonder if the land is an issue when it comes to the new stadium as well. In terms of owning it. Ultimately park nor the current sites land will be owned by the club which I imagine is off-putting from an investment point of view.

Totally get what you mean re atmosphere and being detached from the game but I like the view for spotting tactics, movement etc. I loved watching Barcelona from up there many years ago and seeing how big they made the pitch when in possession etc.

Much prefer it to TV but with obvious matchday experience limitations like you say but I am getting old!

I was also up there for the Barca game so totally get where you're coming from there but obviously on Saturday v Burnley that one big positive that you mentioned will disappear as they'll basically be the polar opposite of what Barcelona were and it won't be such a good watch.

 

Again though even against Barcelona in the Champions League the atmosphere up there was very poor and you just feel totally detached from the rest of the ground, especially the further back you go. For me the one main reason to actually attend a match rather than watch on TV is for the atmosphere. If there's no atmosphere I'd rather keep the 60 quid in my pocket and watch on the telly.

Probably, yep. And it's also the only land that's available for a development of the type we're talking about. If some land swap scheme with Leazes Park isn't achievable then there really is fuck all vaguely around the city centre that's available for a new stadium (i.e. not the arena site). I don't know if the Helix site would have ever been suitable but you wonder if our chance for a new stadium in a central location disappeared with that being developed.

Hahaha yep can't really argue with you there! Hopefully you would see lots of pretty patterns as we cut Burnley to pieces but...

Personally I would take any seat in the ground over TV but not knocking anyone and do appreciate the level 7 issues, I was pretty bored up there watching England the last time they visited

The Town Moor being arguably the best possible site to relocate the stadium sums up the challenge perfectly tbh. It's not the answer.

Not sure if that's tongue in cheek, but whatever we might think of the SoS, one of the benefits of moving a stadium away from the city centre is that I would think there'd be far less obstacles to ongoing development as and when needed. If they did need to expand, would probably be a far easier process than ours.

While we are complaining, went to queue for a hot drink on Tuesday before the game and the service in the kiosks is a mess. 

 

Waited 5 mins and queue didn't go down so just walked off.

They are absolutely useless. I get that they're agency staff an all but fucking hell, trying to get a pint at half time is an absolute mare at those bars in L4 Leazes. Nee wonder people leave on 35 mins.
