Tyneside life done a vid on it - makes it sound really unlikely they'll build in Leazes Park

Not having a pop at you, but what Tyneside Life knows about the situation could be written on a pinhead, with enough room for the Lord's fucking prayer.

He comes across like an absolute prick like [emoji38] it's the way he prefaces the video "look guys, after, and only after you watch the video will you have the ability to speak about the stadium matters"

This was from the FAB meeting with NUFC

The final grouping of long term season ticket deals, which were introduced in 2011, will conclude as scheduled this season (25/26). The previous grouping ended in 2022.

The use of final grouping suggests it wasn’t a huge number of STs, but that's just my interpretation. I’d also have expected the FAB to say in the meeting if tens of thousands were affected.

64% is a massive rise, but on a price that hadn’t increased for 14 years. Did people on 10+ year deals expect to pay Ashley’s 2011 prices forever? At some point, they had to align with what everyone else pays.

They knew the deal they’d benefited from was ending and it wasn’t a stealth increase.

If I fix my mortgage and interest rates rise, I have to pay the new market rate when the term ends. I've benefitted from the fix, but the landscape has changed. That’s just standard economics.

Compare that with members, we already paid the highest ticket prices in the ground and were then hit with a stealth rise for 25/26, which was even bigger than the stealth rise on ST prices.

I’d love for the whole ground to pay 2011 prices, but it’s not the case. 20,000 of us are paying £55+ per game for bog standard seats, whilst 10 year fix ST's are unhappy that they couldn't stay at £20 per game for the same bog standard seats.

It’s just another example of the “us and them” division between STs and members that's been created by the takeover, unfortunately.

To be clear not arguing against closer alignment. Always been pro member in my attitude despite being a STH. Just wanted to make it clear there’s been high rises to ALL ST holders and massive ones in particular which would require serious rebudgeting of their finances. We should all be on the same side ultimately. Important Members don’t create an us and them stance as much as it is STHs don’t do likewise.

Yeah, Tyneside Eddie’s video puts the final nails in the coffin for Leazes Park. Not a chance in hell it happens. The missed opportunity of the Arena site will haunt us forever IMO.

In summary, we aren’t getting a new stadium and probably not even a tarted up SJP either. Depressing.

His presumption that a 'world class' stadium automatically means only a massive stadium complex on the scale of Atlanta and others will do seems like a bit of a leap.

He's an idiot. Not sure why he clings to marketing terms such as world class either, it essentially means nothing.

Interesting he wasn't comparing the footprint of other newish stadiums such as Everton and the Emirates. It's just selective rubbish to suit his narrative.

They fit well within YouTube titles, and to be honest the people who watch him are the less informed who think that by watching him, they will be more informed and those strap lines work. As it happens he’s not very well informed himself so there is also an element of it working on him too.

What happened to the confirmation he had from high level officials that the council had approved a plan to move Leazers Terrace onto the tennis courts.

That Tyneside life is the pits.  Can't stand him.

All football fan YouTubers suck; just smug gobshites who reheat Reddit posts and act like they’re breaking some huge news. Weird goons, man.

I’m still waiting to find one who isn’t a self-important, lazily Googling cartoon of a human.

The gullible people who watch that type of shite and think it’s true.

Makes you wonder what else they’re being hoodwinked by on the interweb.

Don't have a problem with those types of videos or the amateur sleuthing etc. I'm all for it. My main and only gripe with Eddie is that he's a cantankerous egomaniac who seems to just want to have his own fanclub and can't seem to handle even the mildest questions without having a meltdown.

Even if what they say in those types of videos is absolute codswallop that they’ve completed fabricated ?

Jay out of The Inbetweeners has got more credence than those YouTube bell whiffs

I don't think it's particularly egregious in this case tbh and everyone can take it all with a pinch of salt.

Tyneside Life is just a symptom of a much, much, much bigger problem.

Lots of people in society can't think objectively and don't take those type of videos with a pinch of salt. They see that YouTube bullshit and believe it to be true.

Never underestimate the gullibility of people and how dangerous filling their minds with lies can be. If people believe that football bullshit, they're gullible enough to believe anything that they see.

Sorry, that's got a bit heavy, but I feel very strongly about the dumbing down of society.
