Aye, loads.

Nee offence but highly doubt that. I haven’t checked for West Ham but I’ve checked resale for many games over the last two years and in league never found more than an odd ticket that is briefly available before being snatched.

If there were for West Ham it’s because something strange has happened and people have been unaware they were there

I'm honestly not sure I agree, the model is universal, even in areas with similar economic situation to the north east (IE Liverpool/Everton).

It's depreciating returns once you get past a certain capacity size. They'll be more minded from a revenue point of view to increase corporate opportunities or to build a stadium that can host other events all year round. The latter would be the one thing that I think would push them towards another site given the construction constraints on the existing one.

That’s two teams in one city. We are that rarity of a one club city. We are also at their level of support without any major silverware for over half a century.

I agree with your second point which ultimately highlights no inroads would be made with ticket shortage for the average member if we only increase capacity to 60-65K. It would be just corporate boxes in the main.

i was on a tour the other day and one of the folks taking us round mentioned January when we might start to hear things

prices on boxes and stuff was an eye opener

40k for an 8 seater box, 88k for a 12 seater, a good few of the players seem to have them as well

Callum Wilson has one directly on the halfway line, i looked through the window but couldnt see a treatment table in there :-)

also mentioned the ST's for the likes of Joe Harvey and Bobby Robson suite are like gold dust

edit: also confirmed the 300 business/10 year waiting list....

Considering it's £300+ per person in any of the hospitality sections, that's not a bad deal.

Aye, £263 per person, per game.

I don't think we'd get anywhere near 80K tbh. 60-65K would be the right amount.

We could have sold 60k for Wimbledon at home in the 3rd round of the league cup with the game announced at 1 weeks notice tbf.

We all know why the queue was so big for that game so let's not get into that. There were still tickets for the West Ham game a week after the resale.

I've been on every day for West Ham (constantly refreshing for 15 mins at a time on multiple occasions) as I got a ballot rejection and haven't seen a single ticket come available yet!

As a comparison, Taylor Swift played at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami;

The 65,326 permanent seats for football and soccer configurations break down as follows: for the general 19-inch (48 cm) seats with chair back and armrests, there are 27,397 in the lower deck and 34,736 in the upper deck. There are 10,209 of the bigger club 21-inch (53 cm) seats with chair back and armrests. In the 193 executive suites with 10, 12, 16, 20, and 24 seats, there are a total of 3,198. There are also 300 accessible seating locations for spectators with disabilities, 150 seats for working press, and 10 radio/TV booths.[38]

The stadium contains 10,209 club seats and 216 suites. When the Marlins played at the stadium, 2,400 of the club seats and 216 suites were available.[citation needed]

I believe we should be aiming higher than this 80K the sweet spot IMO

I don’t think the odd single sale ticket coming up validates much in terms of demand.

To get 2/3 or 4 together is nigh on impossible unless you do well in the ballot and even then it’s a challenge some games

I currently only attend with one son, the other is a couple years of going to games, unless the capacity is massively increased I think 3 together is going to be a massive challenge and that’s really only limited to one area of the stadium.

Yeah. The fact is, for 3 years every match has been a sellout, with ten of thousands not getting tickets.

Even if we take the claims about the West Ham match at face value, we are still 2 weeks away from that match, and unless you are a child, or accompanying a child, the match is a sellout. That match is on a Monday night, live on TV, and in the middle of winter as well.

They are not going to build an 80k stadium for hundreds of millions to sell a load of concessionary season tickets at reasonable prices, like £300. The economics just don’t work.

Any new build or extension would cap out at 70k max, and you’ll still be forecast in the business plan to spend £300 on taking each kid per season, but the plan is for that to cover 3 visits at £100 each. You’ll get a scarf and a programme chucked in though.

No one is saying they will. To be honest, I’m surprised the family section has stayed so big, or even still exists.

I think most people realise that we are on the verge of £1,000 or more season tickets. The question is if we are paying £1,000 in a new stadium, of £1,500 for a revamped SJP?

I don’t expect them to build an 80,000 seat stadium to sell kids tickets, it was to evidence demand v claim.

if you’re a group of adults wanting seats together in any area of the stadium, you’re in reality completely screwed

for a box? yes

One of our clients once had a box til 2/3 years into Ashley and was something like £6400 plus Vat. The price rises and KK meant they had no interest after that

I went to Arsenal versus Chelsea at The Emirates with a work hospitality event in 2018, there were probably 12 to 15 of us there, it was £17,500 +VAT for a single game, that's 6 yrs ago and Arsenal doing loads better now, so would imagine it's even more these days.

Ongoing problems with Local Authority funding, either deliberately to force a nationwide firesale of assets to the rich OR to promote "efficiencies" (you decide), might well help any plans NUFC have to move.

A varnigh bankrupt council can't argue against selling parks to companies that will save the area from neglect. Nor can the punters.

Suppose part of it comes down to what the Saudis see as the statement stadium. 65k-70k is more than fine enough, keeps supply and demand at a good level when doing well, and when not doing not so well (or weak cup games) can fill out majority still with some concessions.

But if they want a dick waving contest, going big with a new build that’s at the time till Man Utd do there’s, biggest club stadium in England would be something.

Not like they’ll be building multiple stadiums for WC2034 that are way oversized.
