That's the cover over something underneath it. There was definitely something else underneath when I walked past.

I hope so anyway. That's barbaric.

You know what the place reminds me of at the moment? This might sound snobby, but you know when you walk down your street and there'll be someone who'll have gotten an extension or something but the bricks blatantly don't match, they'll have had their garden paved, but they'll have signs up everywhere, 'Never mind the dog, Beware of the kids!', gnomes and things everywhere, big gates with huge lions on either side of it that are far too big for the house. Inside you can see that there's a stencil on the living room wall that's a quote by Marilyn Monroe or Audrey Hepburn and there's a canvas of a photograph.

All just tacky shite.

It actually is pretty fitting for the fans that go there and suck Pardew's balls every other week.

What about those who go there to support the team?

Everyone is there to support the team. Unfortunately the majority of SJP are happy to support the management at the cost of the club's long term future in the Premier League it seems.

They're not supporting the team, they're supporting the regime. Ironically.

I'm sure the players would disagree with that statement.

There's a bigger picture to look at than directly influencing the players on the pitch imo. There has been for a long time.

Correct. If nobody bothered going along to watch there would be no club. Certainly not a Premier League one anyway.

There will never be no club as a sole and direct result of fans not turning up. Ashley at best would sell up, or be forced to change his methods. Going along and supporting the team IS supporting the regime, you're giving them money, that's all they're interested in.

They're putting up another sign at the Barrack Road corner of Gallowgate. Dunno what it is though, it's at pedestrian height.

Any cheap designer could have arranged and colourised the photos into a mural where the badge was made up of the photos and looked appealing, like these ones.
