LoveItIfWeBeatU
It was interesting to see that in Oguchi Onyewu we have finally got someone in the team who can throw the ball a decent distance. It makes a change from the predictable 'routine' that we always use: - wait until everyone is marked, throw the ball to the nearest man who will then return the ball to the thrower, who will then punt the ball up field. LoveItIfWeBeatU
Depressing tactic. Which one? The long throw or our current method?

LoveItIfWeBeatU
Both. Well that's this topic killed then! Seriously though, it's nice to have a change of tactic. The opposition must have been surprised when we did a long throw. We never do long throws.
Matt
There's no harm in having a couple of extra options from set pieces. I'd sooner see us launch it than do our usual trick of throwing it short, getting under pressure and putting it out for a throw to the opposition. Guest TheOrder
Aye, nowt wrong with the old long throw when all else has failed. Gooch's were excellent.
Yorkie
Aye, agreed tbh. Our throw-ins have been abysmal for years.

Incognito
Its just a real pity that Gooch can't hoy the ball in the box from 40 yards and then leg it into the area to get his head to the ball.

Kitman
We must be the worse team in the Premiership at throw-ins. We may as well throw it to the other team. And Yorkie's right, it's been that way for years and nothing's been done
