Talk of an N'Zogbia Transfer request

How stupid is this. Player does well, down to him. Player does shit, down to Roeder. Get a grip lads.

I have never once said a player has played shit due to Roeder.  I have said before the TEAM has played shit due to Roeder. There is a big difference.

No, you said no-one had improved under Roeder. When i gave some examples this was put down to the player not the manager. Same difference tbh.

They havn`t really improved due to Roeder though have they ?  As I said further up Dyer said it was down to alot of work put in by Saunders. Sibs just got lucky and has looked as crap as before against big sides. Milner was let know that he was playing for his furture at SJP or elsewhere this season.

Parker, Zoggy, Emre and Duff have all been a shadow of what they were before Roeder got here or their previous clubs.

Parker and Emre offered nowt to the team under Souness. Cant see how their perfomances this season are 'a shadow of what they were' under Souness tbf.

Dyer was tlaking about his finishing skills, not his running on and off the ball or his passing.

Sorry got a bit busy there.  I still doubt it was much to do with Roeder, he hasn`t been that different to the odd game under Souness.

I will ask him later, not that I would put the reply on here but for my own peice of mind.

Ask who? Dyer?

Yes. Last time I spoke to him was on msn, well the misses was before the AZ game at home, he said he would score a goal to cheer her up. He did and was laughing about it the next day.  I will pm you the answer. I`m just pretty sure Roeder has had nothing to do with the slightly improved Dyer.  He was away down here pretty much all the time out injured with a specialist. Roeder didn`t get that much time if any to improve him before he played, therefore I believe he had nothing to do with it.

I agree this is getting pathetic and exactly what I was trying to say. Anything good = everything but Roeder, anything bad = all Roeders fault!

When Roeder said he will give everyone a clean slate (including Butt) people were slagging him off. Season nearly over and Butt has been one of our best players, does Roeder get any credit? Nope its all down to Butt!

Roeder slagged off for signing Sibierski, although pretty average does a lot more than anyone expected. Does Roeder get any credit? Nope Sibierski got lucky

I agree that some of the criticism might be a bit over the top. But I am not sure, if Roeder really deserves praise for the likes of Butt and Sibierski. Butt is playing more to his usual standard (although I would still say he is miles away from the form he had a couple of years ago), so I don't think the manager worked wonders here. The same applies for Sibierski. Roeder got a couple of decent performances out of him, nothing less, but certainly also nothing more. Maybe Roeder deserves kind of praise for Dyer's short spell of good performances, which faded away quite quickly though. Of course a manager deserves as much praise for good performances from players as deserving criticism for poor performances. I still think the performances of Butt, Dyer, Sibierski are just in between. Maybe better than expected, still worse than they should be. If they were good, Roeder deserved praise. But they weren't.

Why does he deserve no praise for Butt? He could have just gone with the fans and let him leave but he gave him a chance and let him know he was behind him and this has been repaid with performances that will probably make Butt player of the season.

I am not claiming Roeder has made Butt the player he is but I thought the whole debate was Roeders handling of players?

Player of the season in a team where most other players have played well below their standard. Butt hasn't excelled. All Roeder got out of him were "normal" performances. But anything less wouldn't have been acceptable. So all Roeder deserves, is not getting criticized for it, but praise? I do praise people for doing good things, not for doing average things.

Any excuse not to give him any praise.

Not sure but has Roeder ever said what kind of football he wants us to play and how he's working toward that?

If he has said he wants to play shit, no clue football where we get very lucky when we win games and go down without a fight when we lose some people are going to have egg on their face!

                                                                                          Goals/Assists

Kieron Dyer 2006/07 Season Totals Starts: 23  •  Sub: 6       6 3     Roeder

                  2004/05                        Starts: 29  •  Sub: 10      6 0    Souness

Not much difference tbh.  Same amount of goals, 3 assists. That could be more to do with him having to find Martins instead of having to find Ameobi.

Yes thats what i`m saying, he hasn`t changed much since. I don`t feel Roeder has improved him. He has 3 assists and the same amount of goals in a few less starts. The slight improvement has come from him not Roeder.

Fair play to Roeder. He got decent performances out of an ex-England international. That was a hell of a job. Maybe even a miracle. Top bombing. HE IS DA MAN.  ROEDER FOR ENGLAND!

I am serious about the last bit by the way...

If you can't give credit then fair enough but its plain for most to see Butt had lost his way a bit since leaving ManU but Roeder gave him the chance that many of us wouldn't and he has performed.

I am sure if Rafa had got Fowler back to anything near his previous best you would acknowledge this achievement and not be spouting the "well done getting a former England international to his best" crap but then Rafa isn't our underfire manager is he?

How do you know that Bruce didn`t sort his head out before he came back ? Like I said earlier I think with Butt its more of a case of if NUFC don`t want me i`m going to be playing in the championship so I better play well.

butt's rehab has little to do with any manager, more to do with having a tiny bit of movement around him so when he gets the ball he can give it simply, which he is very good at as opposed to having to try 40yd balls because everyone is standing still.

But he isn't getting him to his "best". If that was the case, I would consider giving Roeder credit. As I said above. Butt's performances were decent, but not really anything special. He was better - or better: more consistent - than his team mates. That's all, and I don't see why this deserves praise, neither for the player nor for the manager,  because that is the minimum of standard I would expect from any player - and in this regard the manager - anyway.

EDIT: If I were to give praise it would be along the lines: Congratulations to Nicky Butt, he wasn't as crap as other players. Well done Roeder, for this achievement, too.

so the allegation is now that Zog has played s**** because Anal has picked on him all season?

just how much of precious c*** is he?

No, I woudl agree with the possible reason given above by 'tomi' - Father dying last season, Being hailed as bright prospect then being dumped for Duff, Best mate (boum) leaving - these may have been factors - not just criticism by a local journo.

However, the question is why is Oliver seemingly going after N'Zogbia alone, and not the rest of the player that have underperformed this season - such as Duff, Carr, Babayaro to name a few??

In todays article he even questions who would pay any money for N'Zogbia, given his performances this season??!!

It just smacks of a vendetta against the player, nowt else - it can't really be called 'constructive criticism', can it???

MJ

for all the s**** players they may be, have Duff, Carr, Babayaro ever refused to play for the club when asked, or bitched when not selected?

And Charlie has?

Any response to this yet Vic? Are you going to accept you were bulshitting, tell us when Charlie has done these things or try to claim you weren't inferring that Zog has ever refused to play for the club when asked?

Pinched from Sweetleftpeg on TT. What Roeder said in the Chronicle a few months ago:

"Charles is 20 years old and he has had over 50 starts. "We have a disease in this country. We turn out good young players - in fact, he is better than good, he is an excellent young player - and we demand that they play week-in, week-out.

"They get to 23, 24 and suddenly they have all sorts on injuries because they have played too many games and they suffer burn-out.

"It is my job to look after young players. I did it with quite a few players, but the most obvious one I did it with was Jermain Defoe at West Ham.

"I protected Jermain in the first couple of seasons. He would often come off the bench and play a big part in a winning performance - and he had plenty of starts.

"Charles N'Zogbia will play lots and lots of games, and start lots of games this year for Newcastle.

"We are in four competitions. I think the world of him and he would be one player who certainly would never be for sale as far as I am concerned.

"He has a big future in front of him, but I will protect him."

"Damien Duff coming to the club has actually raised his level of performance anything up to 15, 20%.

"Damien's arrival has actually helped Charles, not hindered him at all. He is a wonderful, wonderful player."

Neither of us have any idea as you know, fact is he came out quite early claiming he had a clean slate which many people moaned about but Roeder was proved correct in doing this.

We can sit here all day and play the "what if" game but that would get a bit boring. Lets look at what has actually happened and how it actually turned out, that will save a bit of time ;)

I doubt Glenn is in any way aware of the irony of these comments considering how many games Milner has played this year. Moron.

Anyway, won't suprise me at all if N'Zogbia is off to Arsenal in the summer and it's all been arranged already. Pre-contract is the wrong word I suppose, but I'm sure it's possible for it all to be aranged by now.

Shocking waste, take a fucking bow Glenn.
