I'd rather keep Parker, and that's saying something.

Parker out for £8m.

Barton in for £3m.

Another £5m in the transfer fund and we actually improve the squad.

If it was up to me Parker could leave for £4m.  8). But then Emre have to stay!  I expect Allardyce to bring the best out of Emre. He succeeded with Campo, and Emre is better  8)

Joey Barton was arrested today, remind me why people want that at the club?

The obvious downfall.

It's just that Allardyce is a good man-manager. But i suppose some things are just in people's blood.

I think Pearce, shit as he is, handled Barton well and he still gets in trouble a lot. Not worht the bother.

I can well believe the "better than ReoCoker" bit. That lad is Dyer Mk II.

With a bit of coaching, there could be a decent DM in Parker. If there is, it would be worth keeping because they're a rare breed and a good 'un can make a big difference.  Generally speaking, it is a role that older players take to.

In the meantime though, get that armband off him. Not captain material I'm afraid.

I'm a big fan of Parker but I think £8m is a great price, especially when you can get the likes of Barton for £5 million.

I'm secretly hoping the other managers have all forgotten about Dean Ashton. Parker for Ashton + £2m sounds about right.  Shhhhh though. Keep it to yourselves.  ;)

Goalscoring centre-midfielder. Something we've lacked since Rob Lee!

He's only scored 1 more goal than Parker this season.

As has been said, he's had a poor season.
