madras
Very much like the Owen situation when we signed him. Would rather be somewhere else - a bit like Owen now really - but with lack of options might end up here on the rebound. how many players currently at SJP wouls have us as their top choice..........possibly steven taylor, all the rest given the choice between us or manu, chelsea etc wouldn't be here. the only way owen is any different is that he is probably good enough to go to one of those. On the plus side, this gives Sam a window of opportunity to seal some great players here if we get off to a good start.

toontownman
Linked with Eidur in the Times today ... Oba on the way out? No. He's not. Next. Gudjohnsen to complete our 7 strong front line. Would be great for creativity in our midfield but we hardly need him at the moment.

EthiGeordie
It is a possibility we can deploy him as an attacking midfilider and he can be a starter of all the attacking moves.

Not for replacing Martins though.. our team would be as slow as fuck..
tmonkey
Our interest in Gudjohnsen must be dead with the purchase of Smith.

Guest Geordie Boyo
If Luque & Shola did go, it would be useful to have Gudjohnsen given the current injury situation with Owen.

Power NUFC
its in the news in iceland this morning that Txiki Begiristain has said that eidur should leave the club so he is up for graps now. i think he could do a good job for us in midfield i hope that sam feels the same. madras
if we brought him in shola would be on his way out. good move
NG32
If Dyer goes we will need another midfield player with pace (Somebody who is more productive than Dyer). Also we could really do with anotherr RB.
