Guest brewer
If you're a player of considerable talent nowadays you should be playing regularly at 20 years old. He is a player of considerable talent, he should be playing regularly.
Cajun
Just a thought, will Portsmouth have a strikeforce come the ACN? Utaka, Benjani, Lua Lua, Kanu...guess that leaves Nugent? Still, that's some blow to their squad. Would be fantastic if Nugent got injured around that time
Parky
How thin was David James looking in that match That's exactly what I was thinking. He looks like he's taken that green shit he writes about all the time in the Observer to ludicrous levels and started eschewing meat, the stupid treehugger. Guest Triglett
Huddlestone was a regular in a decent Derby team at the age of 16. He's probably one of the most capped U21 players in the current squad. Not to mention he played 35 games last season, and held a regular place in the first team for a good spell of 2-3 months. Don't really see the problem TBH, especially when we've got soopa Tainio (although there's a good chance he'll be injured at the time!), while Kaboul's apparently equally adept at playing in DM. That offer's supposedly still on the table for Kevin Prince Boateng too. We'll miss Zokora though...I think it'll be a big second season for him, with hopefully Essien-like improvements. Milan are determined to fend off interest in the Brazil international, who has been a long-term target of Real president Ramon Calderon. Reports have suggested that the Spanish champions are willing to bid a world record sum of €90million (£60.7million) in an attempt to persuade Milan to sell. And Kaka's financial representative Diogo Kotscho has acknowledged it could give the player a tough decision to make. "Real Madrid are certain that that sum can make Milan change their idea," Kotscho told Globoesport.com. "I believe that this is an opportunity that Kaka must think very hard about." Meanwhile, there is speculation that Milan are chasing Real forward Julio Baptista, who spent last season on loan at Arsenal. Real sporting director Predrag Mijatovic and Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani met in Italy on Sunday, with Baptista rumoured to be a topic of discussion. Though Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o remains the Rossoneri's prime target, Baptista is being considered as an alternative. Regarding the Brazilian's future with Real, coach Bernd Schuster told AS: "He will come to Germany and I will speak to him to see how everything is." West Ham have been strongly linked with a move to bring the former Chelsea and Bolton man back to England. Gudjohnsen's future at Barcelona looks uncertain following the summer arrival of Thierry Henry. The Icelandic international struggled to hold down a place in Frank Rijkaard's star-studded side last season and the signing of Henry pushes Gudjohnsen further down the pecking order at Camp Nou. Gudjohnsen is thought to be weighing up his future at Barca and West Ham are believed to be lining up a move for the skilful forward. Gudjohnsen senior says his son would welcome a move to Upton Park and that the player is weighing up his future in Barcelona. "I have heard about the interest from West Ham, but there have been no talks as yet," Gudjohnsen Snr told skysports.com. "It would be something Eidur would consider as there are some Icelanders there with the owners and all. "If they are interested in Eidur I am sure they will contact me." Gudjohnsen is currently recovering from a knee injury and the player's father says the 28-year-old will consider all options available to him. "He is currently injured and he is focused on getting fit again, but he will consider all options open to him," added Gudjohnsen. "Barcelona have always told him it is up to him what he wants to do and they will not stand in his way if he wants to go and they will be happy for him if he wants to stay. "Eidur will not rush a decision on his future and we will evaluate every option we have."
