NSG
SHAK - Nsg has been questioning how i said something on another topic so i thought i would point out a mistake from him just so he knows he's not perfect. I'm not perfect but I didn't make a mistake there.

ChezGiven
http://sport.independent.co.uk/football/premiership/article2750466.ece "The Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce could be ready to attempt to persuade Gabriel Heinze to move to St James' Park. Allardyce, backed by the club's new owner Mike Ashley, is considering a move for the Manchester United defender. He would face competition, however. Heinze, 29, has also been linked with Liverpool, Real Madrid, Milan and Barcelona." Tentative to say the least.
KaKa
Naturally, he'd be part of a centre-back trio, with a younger fitter and more versatile left back also being brought in to play at left wing back. Stop it. I'm just saying that if we did get him, it would match up with my 3-5-2 theory in the 3-5-2 thread. Rumour that we are signing Silvestre for around £3.5 million rather than Heinze. I can't remember where I read it. I think it was fansfc. I agree with James about the 3-5-2 too. I think we will be signing a more attack minded left-back, which would be Bridge hopefully. I'm also beginning to think that there might be a possibility that Rozehnal plays in defensive midfield for us as the Diarra rumours have really died down. Anyway if Sam plays a 3-5-2 with the players below it would be very easy to adjust defensively as we could easily fall into a 4-4-2 on defense. Attacking ... -----------------------------------Given-------------------------------------- ----------------Beye-------------Taylor--------------Silvestre-------------- ----------------------Barton-------------------Diarra------------------------ ------Geremi------------------------------------------------------Bridge----- ----------------------------------Raul/Deco------------------------------------ --------------------------Owen-------------Viduka---------------------------- Defending ... -------------------------------Given------------------------------------ -------Beye----------Taylor---------Diarra----------Silvestre------ ------Geremi--------Barton----------Deco------------Bridge------- ------------------------Owen---------Viduka------------------------- Diarra is a very tall and physical defensive midfielder who has had experience playing as a centre back early in his career so he would be comfortable dropping deeper when we defend. Rozehnal if played in defensive midfield rather than Diarra would be even more comfortable doing this job. Rozehnal also played defensive midfield at PSG by the way so it would make sense. With the right players a 3-5-2 wouldn't be as vulnerable defensively as some think.
Coco
IMO 3-5-2 is the best formation, in theory. The problem is that very few teams can pull it off. With the right players, yes, it would be great, but I can't see us lining up like this...

Skirge
It would seem he thinks we are not a good enough club for him, the Liverpool link must have his attention.... http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/journalsport/tm_headline=heinze-snub-to-united-interest%26method=full%26objectid=19447872%26siteid=50081-name_page.html Heinze snub to United interest Jul 13 2007 by Stuart Rayner, The Journal GABRIEL Heinze is keeping his options open this summer – but Newcastle United would not appear to be one of them. Sam Allardyce is currently looking for a new left-back but if the Argentina international’s comments are anything to go by, he will have to remove the player from his wishlist. The defender is delaying a decision over his future until after the Copa America but, with a host of options available to him, the Magpies appear to be near the back of a long queue. The Manchester United player is now contemplating exercising a Fifa ruling which allows him to buy out the remaining two years of his contract. But Newcastle are not one of the many clubs he has given public encouragement to. “The interest in me from important teams such as Liverpool, Juventus and Real Madrid makes me feel proud,” said Heinze, normally a centre-half in international football but a left-back with the Red Devils. The 29-year-old is set to play against Brazil in this weekend’s Copa America final and only after that will he decide whether to stay at Old Trafford. Heinze appeared to have fallen behind Patrice Evra in his club’s pecking order but was selected ahead of the Frenchman for the FA Cup final and captained the side on occasions at the end of the campaign. “But I still don’t know what I’m going to do in the future and I’m going to start thinking about that after the Copa America,” said Heinze on his Icons.com website. “I feel comfortable in Manchester and I’m very grateful for everything I’ve received there.” With Celestine Babayaro – a player with a far from impressive fitness record since joining from Chelsea in 2005 – the only specialist left-back currently on the Newcastle playing staff, the position is one of the priorities Allardyce has identified for his summer recruitment campaign. Fulham’s Franck Queudrue and Wigan Athletic’s Leighton Baines have been suggested as potential alternatives to Heinze and Allardyce may now have to turn his attentions to them. The former Bolton boss has already lost one summer target to big-spending Liverpool after it was revealed yesterday that Ryan Babel has joined the Merseysiders. The versatile Dutch international forward, who played a starring role in his country’s triumph at last month’s European Under-21 championships, signed a five-year contract. Newcastle were said to have been monitoring Babel’s progress at the championships, which were staged in Holland and where he was man of the match in the final. Heinze’s compatriot Aldo Duscher has arrived on Tyneside for a trial after being released by La Liga side Deportive La Coruña. The 28-year-old midfielder has not yet begun training with the Magpies but is in the country and will start his trial either today or next week. Duscher, capped three times by Argentina, played against Newcastle for Depoprtivo in the 2005 Intertoto Cup but is better known as the player who broke David Beckham’s metartarsal in the run-up to the 2002 World Cup. The former Newell’s Old Boys and Sporting Lisbon player has a reputation as a tough-tackling holding midfielder and seven years at the Riazor is an indication that he has the qualities to match his tenacity. Striker Mark Viduka, a free transfer summer signing from Middlesbrough, is in action for his country in the Asia Cup today. The Australian is set to play in today’s Asia Cup game against Iraq in Bangkok, the Socceroos’ second game in the competition. Australia drew their opening match of the tournament 1-1 with minnows Oman. BURNLEY have dismissed reports they are in takeover negotiations. It has been claimed that a consortium headed by former Sunderland manager Peter Reid was set to take over the Coca-Cola Championship club. The Clarets accepted Mike Garlick and Brendan Flood on to their board of directors last season but maintain they are not “seeking any interest from outside parties”. Flood said: “We have had no contact from any consortium, nor from Peter Reid, and even if we did, it would be a waste of time. “We have just got ourselves into a position to take the club forward and we have our own plans to do this over the coming weeks, months and years.”
Guest
Daily Mirror says that Heinze has a £6m release clause. I mean, what sort of two-bob club puts minimum-release fee clauses in a top-player's contract? Especially for less than what they paid.
Norwegian-Geordie
Daily Mirror says that Heinze has a £6m release clause. I mean, what sort of two-bob club puts minimum-release fee clauses in a top-player's contract? Especially for less than what they paid. It is because of the new rule. When the player have one year or less left of his contract, he/the buying club can pay the salary he would make on that year as transfer-fee, so it is not a release clause. That is why Chelsea have such a rush with signing a new contract with Lampard. This is at least how I understood the new rule.

ohmelads
Robben > Madrid Drenthe > Chelsea Heinz > Bin dippers Heinze won't go to Liverpool. The deadline to pay out of his contract has passed, so Man Utd would have to agree to any deal with Liverpool and they said that won't happen. He 100% won't be a Liverpool player next season. We're his best option in England, we can only hope the big European clubs seal other targets and he's left with us like the Owen/Madrid situation.
