Guest JS
If Keegan professes to love Newcastle so much why doesn't he come to any of our games? Just saying like. KK - "Hi Mike, mind if you sort me a few tickets to come and see the lads play at the weekend? Dont take the whole court case personally, you know!" Would you ever wanna go back to a place you used to work, where you were forced out with constructive dismissal, and expect to feel good about being there? I know I wouldn't dream of it

Guest Howaythetoon
KK said many a time long before he came back under Ashley the reason he didn't attend games because he didn't want to overshadow whoever was our manager or create some kind of conspiracy that OMG the messiah's coming back kind of fanfare in the media and on the stands. As for M4, jesus wept. KK spent 8 or so years of his life here, the longest time he's ever spent at any one place apart from when he was a bairn before he went off to Scunthorpe. Of course he's going to have a great affection for the area, the people and most of all NUFC where for 95% of his time he had nothing but happy times. Its incredibly sad to know as a NUFC fan that KK was probably more hurt than anyone when we failed to win the title or when he left first time and second time. In one of the Toon books I have wen he left first time apparently no-one could get in touch with him for over a week he was that upset. This time I think he was just pissed off. He was lied to and lead a merry dance by utter cunts. How any self respecting Newcastle fan can have any ill thought about KK begs belief it really does and says a lot about the modern day fan. He did a great thing by exposing Ashley and co for what they are. Remember a court of law vindicated KK and never forget that Ashley and the other cunts admitted to actually lying to fans, manager and the media. Its actually amazing KK lasted so long. He's a sharp bloke and probably saw through them after a month or so. He probably feels a right mug now being realed in by these charlatons and you just know it fucking hurts him how it all ended. The wider world will probably view KK long after this is all blown over as a quitter, as someone who limped out of the game on a sour note. Me he'll be remembered for life as the man who saved this club, who gave us some of our best years and as someone who showed us all that NUFC can be a great club, can compete with the world and can be whatever we want to be. We should always demand the best from our club because as KK showed we can be the best. All it takes is for someone with the right mettle to lead it all and KK alongside Sir John Hall, another man lambasted by know nowt fuck wits, were those men. You put those type of figures in charge today and we wouldn't be fucking about in mid-table hiring third rate managers like Pardew, signing freebies and cheapies, fuck that. We'd be looking at the CL at least, a place we challenged for under Shepherd FFS.

Guest schmuck
Right on brotha. I'm philosophical about Ashley personally, but some of the shite directed at Keegan from certain people beggars belief, it's like they're unable to separate Newcastle United, the football team they support unreservedly, from Newcastle United the business, which can, and has been run by any old tosser. And now, I'd like to end with a quote: I fucking love Kevin Keegan.

danny_nufc
Superb post. Ashley and Llambias seem to have persuaded a lot of people that any NUFC fan who hopes for anything above mediocrity is some sort of fantasist. Recent history tells us that does not have to be the case.

Exactly look at Liverpool, poor bloody Hodgson is trying to manage the club with Kenny leering down watching and waiting. Kenny Dalglish never left Liverpool after his career ended, and attended all home matches for years before he was brought back in by Rafa Benitez. Last summer Kenny was shown the list of might be's when Hodgson was the main contender, and although he was a friend of Hodgson he knew he wasn't right for Liverpool. It was then he threw his own name in to the hat which was, for some unknown reason, rejected out of hand. Once Hodgson was appointed kenny gave him 100% support, as he had all previous managers, never speaking out in the press when things were going bad, unlike many other ex players. For Liverpool Kenny Dalglish has never put a foot wrong, on or off the pitch, and maintains, as he always has done, that the most important thing is Liverpool Football Club, and if something or someone is right for Liverpool, then they're right for him whether it's to his detriment or not. Guest
Got to love HTTs selective memory like given Shepherd signed Sibierski on a free and Onyewu on loan finishing a few points above relegation as a few of his last acts, as well as appoint dross like Souness and Roeder before leaving. This appointing average managers and shopping around the bargain basement was starting to kick in well before Ashley arrived.

Guest TheSummerOf69
I love KK. As a player his coming here ignited my initial interest in football, and as a manger he gave me heights of untamed joy that I never ever expected to feel as a Toon fan (as well as bringing my favourite player back for a glorious second spell!) I don't have the same love for John Hall - a man who invested nothing in our time of need heading for the 3rd division, then saw a good investment and made himself rich off the back of KK's suddenly successful team, left us with his numpty son and Shepherd in charge, and then sold out to Ashley. Hall did make his money off the back of knowing a good horse to back though (KK, then Bobby), whereas Ashley lost his by choosing to trust Dennis effing Wise rather than KK, so the greedy but competent Hall is a lot further up my affections than Ashley - the man who poured money into the Toon rather than bled it out but has cost us a fortune with his mismanagement.
