Salgado finds himself behind Sergio Ramos and Cicinho in the pecking order and although there have been denials from his agent I think he's on his way out. Sven seems to be one of the early suitors. He's still excellent going forward as he showed in the Mallorca game with several megs to open up the defence, but defensively he's a bit suspect and it's very late in his career to get used to English football. They're often keen to loan out their younger players like Soldado etc. Given that he's equally comfortable at right back and left back he'd offer good competition even if we just got him on loan. Which according to some here automatically means that Salgado must be a division 3 standard player.. Anyway, yeah better then Carr so I'd take him on a short term deal (no more than one year).
