Tottenham taken up the Arsenal, again

While there are many people jumping to conclusions after one weekend of matches, I reckon this game tonight could be a good yardstick by which to judge two teams who I feel could be close rivals of ours this season.

Am I alone in hoping that Everton take all 3 points and leave Spurs asking questions of themselves? In terms of the resources at their disposal I think they're a bigger threat than Everton although I think Everton look a lot more organised and solid defensively.

Should be an interesting game. Any thoughts?

I think Everton will suprise a few people this season, If they get a striker in i think they have just a good chance to finish 4th.

If i remember correctly didnt Everton beat Spurs at WHL 1-0 i think it was, Johnson goal and Everton ended up with 10 men. I'd be happy with the same result

Hate both sides and want them both to rot and burn.

I think Everton could turn them over BUT Spurs will be out to prove a point after the mackems.

1-1 Berbatov and Johnson

I want a draw. Two points dropped for both sides, and NUFC still topof the league.

Everton would be top with a draw.

 I think home advantage will give Spurs a narrow 2-1 win.

Spurs need to win otherwise they will be piling more pressure on themselves, The whole spurs team have been tipping themselves for 4th which imo is a very bad thing to do because they are inviting pressure on themselves, Spurs fans aint that patient either so things could get interesting if Everton score early.

This is a draw, or Everton might demolish Spurs midfield, score two quick on the fly and then shutdown and counterattack. Spurs wont win this game IMO.

Totally agree, am making sure i get to watch this as it will be interesting to see how they both set about the game after the weekends results. Being the home side and having lost, you'd expect Spurs to come at them. Which may leave some gaps for Everton to exploit on the break. Going to be a good game i think, Jol will have spurs on the front foot from the start.

I'd be happy to see a draw tbh.

Don't underestimate Anichebe

Im not, I just think they need another good striker to add depth and competition.

I wouldn't draw too many conclusions from tonight's game. Again, because it's so early in the season, but also because Everton are our whipping boys. I remember we put 5 past them the season they finished 4th , and last year's win at WHL was their first in 15 attempts.

Seems as if Bent's coming in for Tainio, so Keane will probably drop back and play behind the front two. Looks nice on paper, and it's worked ever so occasionally when we're chasing games, but I'm not a fan at all. Would rather play Taarabt or Malbranque in their specialist positions rather than find a way to accomodate Keane, although he also has a fantastic record against Everton.

If they get the Yak they will get that. Johnson and Yakubu would turn out to be a good partnership imo. Nice blend of pace and strength.

Anichebe is going to out perform both this season in my opinion.

If Yakubu signs, I doubt he'll get the chance to this season.

I would like to see a draw. Further dropped points for Spurs would be a big knock of their confidence. Especially considering how high it has been over the summer pretty much thinking they are guarenteed 4th spot.

If Everton keep they players fit they could be hell of a force this season would be a lot more worried if they signed someone like Yakubu.
