eliassenfredrik
Excellent buy if it gets through. Same with Faye. Got to honour Sams ability to shop smart, good players. For instance, Roeder brought Bernard and Sibierski in, Sam buys Enrique and Viduka. Just to take a few.
KaKa
B He's not worth £3 million. Especially at 31. didn't realise he was that old. Nothing a bit of Emu oil won't fix. Besides 31 is 25 in Allardyce years.
Shak
He's not worth £3 million. Strange thing for me to say, but does it matter when the fee is so little? I think it does, I'd rather pay more and sign someone who could have a long term future at the club. I think most people would. But finding that player might be difficult, bring in Belletti (or someone similiar, if this story turns out to be untrue, hich is quite possible) in the meantime and when we find a great young prospect for the position bring him in to take over eventually. ElDiablo
Looking at the shite we've spent money on the past few years 3m for an established rb isn't too bad. Still got a good 2 seasons left in him at least I reckon.
David Icke - Son of God
An established right back who is head and shoulders above who we've currently got. I'd take that! He'll do a very good job for the next few seasons then who knows who'll become available?

Ikon
He would surely give us some exciting play when going forward. Experienced also. Good for a couple of seasons imo. To make us a better team. We are not a club at this moment who can attract the likes of Dani Alves to name one..

Rich
He's never 5'9", surely? Looks a lot bigger than that whenever I've seen him. Would not turn my nose up at him at all, not sure if this link is correct, but we're definitely in the market for a specialist right-back if a decent one is available. It's another left-footed defender that I'm more concerned about though, being the greedy bastard that I am.
Rich
He's down as 179cm on Barca's "official" English site, that sounds more like it to me.
Willow
Checked the ol' youtube footage and looks a fantastic player, worth the risk in my opinion if it means we have that position covered for the next 2-3 years. We've got the cash in the long run and the wisest of managers to spend it correctly. Mortal/Cashley will slowly but surely stabilize the club so these flurries will be worth it in the end hopefully. And another thing, is it wrong to love your manager.....
Guest onetallpoppy
whats the problem with signinig players in their prime? especially with defender and in the rebuilding stage we are in. we have sacrificed short term gain for long term potential before and it has failed. these moves make perfect sense to me

People are looking too far into the future, we've done that before and so we must learn that NOW is whats most important. Players will get older and in time their replacements brought in but for gods sake, as soon as they turn 32 they don't just turn into a prune and collapse! Lowndsy
surely hes getting people in like this as a short term fix? give us a season/two to find the next batch. rather than panic buying and spending 5-6 more mile on people etc when we dont need to
Guest onetallpoppy
id say tayls, enrique and rozey could be out core for the next 5 years at a minimum. seems like a good crop to me. through in the old heads in their prime. perfect mix. all the big euro clubs sign players in their prime for only a couple seasons all the time. works a treat

ohmelads
Excellent player going forward, was Barcelona's first choice right back until Zambrotta arrived. Like most Brazilian full backs, he's a lot better going forward than he is defending and he could have problems settling into English football at a late stage in his career, but perhaps he and Cacapa could help each other along. He'd walk into the team, no doubt about it, but how long before his legs go? He'd be a good signing, but a bit short-term and to pay a few million plus massive wages might be a gamble. If we're hard pushed to find a proven right back though then we should go for it. Could all be bollocks mind, although it's rumoured the player will be leaving Barca. He wouldn't have brought (or have been able to bring) in Enrique there, the nature of a club like that at the level they are/were at brings a host of new challenges. Players who can already envisage bright futures wouldn't go there, they might here.
Guest eyeball_tickler
SAM ALLARDYCE is trying to get Barcelona hero Juliano Belletti to join Newcastle. The Brazilian World Cup-winner’s deal runs out next summer and he has lost his Nou Camp spot to Gianluca Zambrotta. Belletti’s claim to fame is scoring the winner against Arsenal in the Champions League final in 2006. But Toon boss Big Sam wants the 31-year-old for his sound track record as a full-back. Allardyce moved for the Brazilian right-back at the beginning of the week but so far has not been given permission to talk to the player whose contract runs out next summer. Barca have gone on record as saying they don’t want to sell Belletti and that they plan to renew his contract. Milan failed with a £3m bid last January. The player is also demanding more than £50,000-a-week which Newcastle may feel is too much. Allardyce has moved for Belletti after the high-profile fall-out between the club and Kieron Dyer. Big Sam had hoped to use Dyer as right-back this season and had discussions with the player about the roll. But Dyer wanted to go to West Ham and was set to move to the London club before Newcastle pulled the plug and demanded an extra £2m. Dyer has now been condemned to the reserves. Newcastle’s current right-back, Stephen Carr, is in the final year of his contract and is in talks to see if he can get a new deal but it is possible he may move on. Meanwhile, Allardyce hopes to finalise the signing of midfielder Abdoulaye Faye from his old club Bolton this week. Faye will cost the Toon £1.5m. http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2002390000-2007370616,00.html far from done it seems
Theregulars
Maybe he wants an attacking RB who can cover both RB and RW to replace Solano if he moves on to West Ham? Watch a lot of Barca and has played for them at RW a few times if they playe 4-4-2/when they have a few injury problems as regards the right of the three forwrds in a 4-3-3. Not up to much defensively, mind, but niehter are Carr or Solano.
