  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah was surprised they went for him after they secured the Francis Jeffers and John Solako deals
  3. Rumours abound a personal intervention from Graham Rix got it over the line.
  4. I've been banging this drum for a while but I hope our failure to land Perdo leads to a slight tweak in what appears to be our strategy. We already know our starting XI is a match for anyone, we've seen it plenty of times. A quality starter at RW would be an obvious upgrade and a new CB would be ideal due to Schar & Burn being the wrong side of 30 but otherwise I think our best XI is brilliant. The problem is the drop off as soon as one of our key players gets injured. Schar/Burn/Botman isn't bad and Barnes is a good backup to Gordon but aside from that we're miles off it. Obviously bringing players in who aren't fancied by our rivals (eg recent injuries, form) because they are available for less financial outlay is a risk, but so is leaving us short on depth heading into a PL/Champions League season. If we could bring in an immediate starter at RW and then spread the rest of the budget across CB, CM and CF - players who aren't going to walk straight into the side but offer a solid alternative to flogging Bruno, Tonali and Isak three times a week then I'd be happy with that.
  5. I’m not hammering their efforts in signing players, they’re amazing at it, the best. I’m hammering the fact that they’ve now built such a sustainable model that they could actually try and build towards winning things and being a CL contender regularly but nah, why do that when you can get on your knees and put Todd’s sagging balls in your mouth?
  6. Can see the attraction, young player gets to move back to London, earn a lot more money and if worst comes to worst he can leave in 12 months with 6 years of increased payments from a club he's no longer attached to. The chance to sign him has fallen by the way side twice now like with Ekitike, on to the next one
  7. I guess the argument though, and I do seem to be picking on your posts tonight , is that if they're able to make this much money from this model then it implies we should also be able to get this quality of player in on a smaller budget. I get the need for short termism given the demands next season but there's something to be said for bringing in the cheaper player who we'll develop. Our most recent examples are Hall and Livramento but we paid too dollar for them.
  8. Mate is a die hard Brighton fan and even before the Chelsea link he was saying Pedro isn’t even a top 3 player at Brighton. He’s great as a second striker and creating space but isn’t really clinical himself. Don’t think he really be a miss at Brighton
  9. Sending scouts to watch Emerton and Barnetta later this week
  10. Yeah, fuck him. Enjoy being yet another PL player whose name won't be remembered.
  11. 19 goals pre February, 8 since with 4 being penalties. You could also read some Howe quotes who confirmed as much.

That's awful that, mind. What an ear-bleeding accent
  13. Yea, we were never going to pay £60m. Feels £50m is our top end.
  14. Looks like he'll get rid of Jackson and Nkunku, does that make them worse ?
  15. Any other targets of Newcastle’s they after? Links to Trafford and Scalvini by 9am.
  16. Brian Pinas' kid, I'm assuming?
  17. Burn this thread with fire. Can’t believe how desperate folk have become.
  18. Not going to be smart of us I hear, when we’re back in for him in 2026
  19. 60m for Elanga and DCL on a free is horrifying me at the minute
