  2. TBF the reports last season were correct. Each of the 6 clubs named did dodgy deals to become compliant. This year, only 1 club is reportedly close to failing again and they are likely to use the Chelsea hack on the women's team.
  3. Agreed but it was still very exciting at the time, after carver and pardew had finally left, spending the most in Europe that season, it felt like it was a brand new start with Graham Carr and his previous success being rewarded with more influence plus a new set of highly rated coaches. That season we also got Shelvey and Townsend, the team that got relegated was probably better than the 2008/09 team player for player. Just had a crappy manager that killed it all

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Wonder if we are snooping around an Atalanta player but it’s not Scalvini….
  5. If they are ok for this years accounting (which reports suggest they are) they don't need to sell before June 2026. Unless you have issues for June 2025 - if you need PSR headroom, you can wait til next June to sell valuable players for you and get a full season out of them.
  6. Yes but you said "reported". Im aware of reports but I dont hold any great confidence in people who try to make guesses with finances. Im not saying Forest are in PSR trouble. It was a theory.
  7. None of these are distressed sales. If they need to sell, they'll find a better way than flogging Elanga on the cheap imo.
  8. Until recently there was a lot of talk of MGW going to City, that it was almost a done deal. Now that City have seemingly looked elsewhere, could it be that Forest need to make a sale of some kind in order to bring in the players they’ll need for Europe etc?
  9. No, I perfectly understood what you were saying. The point I was making is this hasn't been reported anywhere (only ones under pressure are Villa) They also breached ffp previously with the Johnson deal. They'd rather hold our than sell cheaply if history is anything to go by.
  10. Nah that was the year prior. Last season - they learnt their lesson and sold some French lads in some dodgy situations - and got a great deal on Anderson and flogged dead wood.
  11. I think you've misunderstood. Perhaps they do need to shift players in order to make money (in theory) and whilst Elanga isnt someone they want to sell, we are aware of their predicament. Like I say, if they sell before the end of the month that will give us an idea.
  12. Your referring to the Brennan Johnson sale? Does make me wonder why would they take less than what they got off spurs. I do think we are in a bit of bind and I also believe the reports saying Mbeumo was our primary target for that position.
  13. Forest don't sell players that want to keep even if they do have PSR issues.
  14. Didn’t realise there’s only until Monday for some book balancing. Let’s see who shits themself and blinks first.
  15. Well considering where we are in the table(and where he rescued us from), I'd say Howe was more a top than a bottom. Edit- and he if continues to bring in the trophies, I'd call him Daddy until the cows come home .
  16. Did we not get relegated that season and sell all but 1 of those by the following season? At least 2 of those rarely had a good game for us - possible 0 good games. Thought Mbemba was a Pardew era signing.
  17. They aren't according to reports and they also aren't willing sellers.
  18. This makes me wonder whether Forest are in a PSR pickle. Perhaps they are trying to offload other players? Be interesting to see if this gains traction in the last couple of days of the month.
  19. A Korea best payday you might say…
  20. How does that work for add-ons and performance clauses? Might be a good workaround for both clubs?
  21. Neither, we haven't opened talks yet. I'm still confident he stays this summer. It'll be more a worry next summer when Bayern and Barca in particular are in for a new striker.

    sunderland

We should ban Sunderland tops from our airport.
  23. The issue won’t be the salary. By extending his contract by a further 3 years we can amortise his transfer fee for another 6 years. There’s currently 31.5 mill remaining or 10.5mill a year. So if he extends for a further 3 years, that fee will be amoritsed to 5.25 mill. So we can offer him an extra 5.25 mill pounds a year or 100,000 pounds a week without negatively affecting our PSR position. However, he will want an out if a mega club comes in for him. So the negotiation will be on the release clause value. He has 3 years left on his contract, so Newcastle hold the leverage. It makes sense for him to back himself to continue to score goals, keep his value high, sign a new deal with a release clause of say 160 mill in the event Newcastle don’t qualify for champions league, that’s still attractive to mega clubs. But Newcastle don’t lose out.
