The quicker we get a good DoF in the better - one who Howe can actually work with. -

Reading some Brighton fans opinions on him, apparently he only really delivers in the ten position. Definitely feels like change in shape could be on the cards at some point. -

Makes sense from Brighton’s perspective - not from ours. We were bidding after the press had clearly been briefed by his reps that he wanted to be in London. Borderline amateurish to be frank. -

My feeling is this was a smokescreen to get Chelsea to bite. -
Sling it in the punchable faces thread.

The absolute irony is, if the thi k fucks managing them have kept the existing squad and invested in a decent striker and manager, they'd have invested sensibly. Instead they've spunked a load of coin on players that'll be in the reserves in a year or so
-
Nee bother. Depending on direction, it’s one I think I could see them going down. More Tino/Hall polishers than ready baked Pedro/Mbeumo types.

James "Shagger" Trafford: Transfer from Burnley "pretty much done" (Edwards)

Alright, Pards. -
Exactly. Another whole week before training starts, and even then it won’t be mid July until everyone is back. Past that I’ll be concerned if we haven’t brought more than Trafford in.

The concern for me is that we seem to once again to be failing to do due diligence. Everyone and his granny seemed to be aware that the lad wanted to be in London except for our transfer team. Not a good look. -
From everything I've read we fucked him over a bit the first time. Everything was ready to go and then Wilson got injured and we bailed last minute and pivoted to Isak. Probably should have signed them both in hindsight. Anyway, his whole getting suspended by his club for fighting with a team mate, swinging elbows at people schtick does make him feel like more of a Chelsea player so on to he next one. Then when Chelsea sign him, on the the next one. Eventually they won't notice when we bid for someone.

The heat is coming here now. -
This was my least favourite way for us to spend £60m. Rather have 2 players from outside of the PL and gamble that way, than £60m on a stroppy player who doesn't nailed a place in the xi.

Agree, personally think it’ll be tomorrow Evening. This has been the clubs number one target this summer. -
Game owa Hopefully they'd beat Chelsea
-
Page 69 and this top shagger not signed? Pathetic.

Heard anything on Dibling?

If I recall correctly, Wilson got injured and we decided to go all out an a CF in Isak instead of Pedro. -
I guess the reason I thought he was number 1 target is that we have history there and we've made a clear attempt to sign him again. But yes, there's no proof that we havent stalled making an increased offer because we have other irons in the fire that are our actual preferences. I'm sceptical that's the case though as I don't imagine any selling clubbing not leaking our interest in the hope to agitate further interest. The news about the Trafford, Pedro and Elanga bids wouldn't have come from our side. The above point probably negates the need to answer the second part, but for the sake of discussion, by all accounts Brighton rejected 1 maybe 2 of our offers. Of course Chelsea could and probably would have been a threat no matter, but it surprises me - on the assumption he was our number 1 target - that we hadn't at least agreed on a fee at any point.

Think we’ll get a here we go tomorrow or Tuesday for this one
