We need more of those players that are ‘too good’ to stay here, surely? Otherwise how can we ever bridge the gap. If every good player is allowed to leave in the meantime, we’ll never progress. The ‘on holiday‘ thing annoys me. Everyone is entitled to time off and a break from things, but if I was worth millions of pounds and it was a critical time of the year for maximising a deal which may dictate where I play out the rest of my career, then I wouldn’t be dicking about at Center Parcs.

Players have teams that deal with all this stuff. They'll know what he wants and if he wants to move (seemingly he does). So it doesn't matter if he's on holiday. We won't be getting anywhere close to actually signing him until we get into July anyway.
