Aye, that’s the one.
-
We know Burn, Schar, Botman even Lascelles and Krafth can do a job at CB. We know Murphy can do a job at RW and Barnes or Gordon can cover. We’ve got nothing up front outside of Isak. I think Osula is a striker but most on here think he’s a RW too. Either way he’s totally untested as a PL/CL starter. A striker is a must in this window.
-
Akliouche, I hope. He's class, although would be more expensive than Elanga probably. That being said we could have more to spend now we don't need to put £60m towards Joao Pedro.

Paul Mitchell also delivered sweet fuck all in his time here mind. Admittedly, mind, no one knows the details of why...
-
We’re in such a difficult position. It’s obvious we can’t afford an expensive mistake from abroad. Gone are the days (pre ffp/psr) where you can buy a player from abroad on 3 year deal. Due to the amortisation any deal has to be 5 years these days. With wage demands included it’s why less and less clubs in the top 6 are shopping abroad and most are buying proven premier league players. It’s easy for me to say we should change the strategy and gamble to buy three abroad signings but if those three players don’t come good in the premier league it could knock us back 5 years. The top clubs are effectively prohibiting clubs from buying abroad and then hoovering up the domestic talent themselves. Sickening.
-
I was excited about this and now need to root against him. Thanks Chelsea.
-
Two things: 1) how do we know exactly who the number one options are… it is perfectly possible that we have multiple deals being worked on at any one time. 2) with Pedro, the “extra mile” isn’t really something we can just “be willing” to go for. If Chelsea have beaten us to his signature it will almost certainly be because they are offering a wage far higher than we are allowed to, plus the London appeal.

O can name just about every striker who will be superior to DCL. Who said we would be paying big money? I'll be happy we don't sign that crock, which we won't
-
That may be a factor, but that also represents a higher chance of success buying proven players in the league. The issue isn't that we are after these players in our position, the issue is that we cannot compete with other clubs that we should be able to compete with.
-
7 head contract puts me at peace We cannot match that (and shouldn't either) Financially the best move for him
-
Well I found it funny anyway.
-
What is extra length? If you mean Pedro, Romano said he only wanted to move to Chelsea, so no chance there.
-
The Saudis will be funding it too.
-
Which is what I said earlier… we’ll be going after the “obvious” and highly competitive targets first, partly because they might be the top of the list, and partly because if we don’t, they’ll definitely be gone.
-
So you do not have any examples. Like I said, we will most likely get a freebie like DCL or someone cheap from abroad. If you think it is going to be big money striker, prepare to be disappointed.
-
Ekitike.

I posted a few days back about two other players we’ve definitely been interested in and enquiring about, but I don’t know how far we have taken them. That Monaco winger who’s name I have an inability to retain, and the young lad Prestianni from Benfica. If you only take last summer into account, sure I could see why you think Eddie only wants PL experience, but other than that he’s been more than willing to shop abroad.
-
Or if we want someone more of an attacking mid. Nico Paz of Como. Hes 20.
-
Have we ever been this close to signing a player twice like this?

What happened to going for talent like Botman, Bruno and Isak? Why are we all out for PL?
-
I bet they're buying the stadium we were going to buy...

Moise Kean is more a legit striker but he has a release clause of 44m. Just leaving this here because hes one we've been linked with.
