I still think Popes injury was not right when he come back. Seemed reluctant to dive in that shoulder so maybe he knows he would fail a medical if if he was looking to leave. Either way time waits for no man.. be it Pope in goal or Wilson at CF. Players have to be prepared for a sudden replacement if we are to achieve our top 4 hopes year in year out

Don’t know much about him but he seems quite highly rated.

Yeah not sure what the issue is. Sorry, repeating myself now, but it's great to see a colour badge on an away kit for a change.

Can you elaborate? Because plenty of players have gone from Newcastle to Man U and vice versa. I doubt the Man U fans were up in arms at Nicky Butt for daring to come and play for us. Unless you mean the cardinal sin of a player expressing excitement to come and play for his new club, which literally every new signing has done for every new club ever.

Wonder what he makes of the same squad 1 week before pre-season.

Agree with this. I was pretty underwhelmed with the Howe appointment even though he was clearly streets ahead of Bruce. Think that feeling of being underwhelmed stemmed mainly from the fact I was gutted about missing out on Emery mind. Chuffed the way it turned out in the end obviously.

if the relegation odds are 1/2 , survival will be around 13/8 mate

I seriously don't see how some random from France is getting ya shit together like, its just what normal clubs do. This guy is nothing special at all, £30m gets you average today and his performances as said on here are nothing to write home about, nothing to fret about but you never know

Always believed he's the man, and will continue to do so. When he came under some pressure, I felt it was entirely unfair and unjust. The fact Eddie Howe's Newcastle finished 7th in the 23/24 season with so many injuries and no signings is massively underrated. We lost 1,950 days due to injury. For reference, before that season started people had us down to finish 23/24 in around 4th-8th, alongside Spurs, Manchester United, Villa etc. Spurs blamed injuries on their poor league season this year with 1,553 days lost - Man Utd only 1295 days lost. They both finished 17th & 16th, respectively. Doesn't even count the fact Tonali was suspended from Oct onwards either. Akin to Mourinho finishing 2nd with that Man Utd team - hugely overlooked and unrecognised. Only after, you stop and think. He's absolutely elite.

Isn't that more than you get for winning the champions league?

"You're stood still, being stood still is no good, you've got to create the space" Immediately in love

I just remember the reaction to that first coaching session. Actual tactics? Right, we’re on here lads.

Weirdly it’s pretty much the only thing about the top that’s the same as 97 other than the orange trim

Just go spend 200m and worry about the psr next season. Getting Trafford, Elanga, Pedro and a defender sets us up for a few seasons and should allow us to then build underneath the squad with upcoming players/academy and look to strengthen with 1 or 2 each year. Would have a young first 11 overall and potential for profit on quite a few if needed to next few years
