Imagine this article four years ago?! https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6323386/2025/05/02/newcastle-united-premier-league-title-contenders/?source=user_shared_article Newcastle United, 2025-26 Premier League champions. Is it really that far-fetched?

Love looking at this right now

Your first sentence suggests the level of expectation at us is low as we're happy with beating Lyon, then your last sentence suggests the fans always expect to be challenging for UCL places. So which is it? The unrealistic expectations come from opposition fans, not us.
-
It just shows the level of expectations at ManU nowadays. Scraping past ten man Lyon AT HOME, is seen as success. Your team is one the richest and biggest clubs in the world, who should get best players and coaches in. Seems like your club has been in a constant turmoil since SAF left, and everytime there is a coach who gets few wins on the bounce, there is this "next season will be ours" -stuff. The big problem is that your squad does not have the players Amorim need, and seems like you don't have the staff or money to fix it in a year or two. But the fans will always expect to be challenging at least for UCL places.

Only reason my aunty isn’t my uncle is because she hasn’t got any plums You were shite, don’t die on the Lyon hill Frogster

Don’t think there’s much love lost between Chelsea and Liverpool either mind. -
The only reason Lyon were even in the game was because of two Onana errors. They were deservedly beaten.

Liverpool will have been on the drink all week. Their season is done now. Chelsea will beat them I reckon. -
Because Arsenal seem to have a thing about us and if they have nothing else to play for, then they will put all their energy into "revenge" over us. Or not, I dunno.
-
You were fucking wank against Lyon and absolutely deserved to lose
-
You're missing the point. I said we haven't deserved to lose since the Everton game with the exception of the game against Newcastle. I'm aware the results haven't been good. I'm not having a go at you either. Not sure where you've picked that up from. Just saying I am well aware the season has been poor, but there's no need to downplay competitions and very good opponents just because we've beaten them.

Yea, well, you played half a game 11v10 v Bournemouth, half a game 11v10 against Bilbao. I wouldn't say neither was very good display 11 v 11. You were quite bad against Lyon, who scored twice 10v11 at OT. And you were totally torn apart at SJP. So league position is all that matters? Naah, Milan has and had a quality squad. If you ask Bilbao fans, I would think they rather face Brentford than ManU, even though first one is doing miles better in the league. You are defending better in the league than before, partly because there are 7 quite defensive players in the lineup. Amorim is making your team harder to beat, but your attacking is, and will be, woeful until big players arrive. You are totally relient on Bruno for creativity. There is no reason to have a go at me for stating the obvious. Your season has been awful, winning UEL brings some kind of success, but if you don't win it, will Amorim still be there next season? Ange probably is out anyway, and your league record is pretty much the same as Spurs'. edit. So after that Everton game, you have won: Ipswich, Real Sociedad (who got a red card 63'), Leicester, Lyon (AET, red card), Bilbao (red card 1st half) And drawn against Bournemouth, City, Arsenal, Lyon, Sociedad, Fulham (lost on penalties) Lost to: Newcastle, Wolves, Forest. I am sorry, but that is totally mid table team stuff.

Bodø Glimt player said that the press from Tottenham was shait, and talked about how their press wasn't even better than a mid table norwegian team. "That's who we are, mate!"

If Chelsea can possibly beat a Liverpool team with nothing to play for why can't we beat an Arsenal side with nothing to play for? -
Shearer v Leverkusen was very aesthetically pleasing

Froggy pretending to be "humble"

With 4 games to go you have already avoided relegation. During our Mike Ashley years we often had to bite our nails until the final gameweek. Who are we to judge!
-
Orgasmic for me if we get past Bilbao and play Bodo/Glimt instead of Spurs.
-
We're unbeaten in Europe and performing miles better than people realise, even in the league. I can't think of a game we've deserved to lose for a while, with the exception of the game at SJP, where we were easily beaten. Probably have to go back to the Everton game, where we were lucky to get a draw. I see a lot of people having a go at the quality of the Europa League as well, trying to now act like teams like Bilbao aren't good sides. They have the best defence in Spain. Lazio and Roma are above Milan in the league, yet last season nobody on here was questioning the quality of Milan.
-
Would be absolutely orgasmic if they reverse the aggregate then spank Man U in the final, I tell thee

Opposite side of the coin, Gary Speed v Blackburn 2-1 season. Somehow fluked looping a header in from the edge of the box from a ridiculous angle.
