I reckon we should all blame him for the defeat today -
Or Joe Kinnear tbh

Newcastle United vs Liverpool - 28/12/08 - Pre Match Thread

Losing four players (Viduka, Bassong, Beye, Enrique?) in one game would test any squad, we got very unlucky. We did but no RB and LB cover is killing us. Carr & Babayaro would kill us more. -

You've pulled sarcasm off much better than most on here. -
Give Ameobi a full season and I reckon he'd get 9 goals. Not quite the same is it.
-
I assume you're being ironic? Why? Oh sorry, I just thought the whole "Owen loves England more than us" shite had been put to bed?

Well technically it means that he's certainly going, seeing as he's only delayed the announcement, not the decision.

Breaking news : Owen delays announcement over Newcastle future until end of season

Nope. I detest such a mentality. Answer the following questions: Which club is the greatest club in the world? Which club is the biggest club in the world? Which club is the best club in the world? Which club has the best fans in the world? Newcastle United that's who. Thats not pride, thats just corny, hollywood drivel man. Ask yourself those questions and the answer will be our club still wouldn't it? Corny, bull shit or whatever, it is still true. I know our club isn't the biggest club in the world in the grande scheme of things but TO ME it is and that's my point. Everton fans will answer those questions with their club and every other fan would likewise with their respective clubs. What on earth are you going on about? Get yourself a coffee and rethink what you've just typed.

Kinnear sees big role for Smith in New Year

Also the reason he refused to sell Barton and encouraged him to send the text to SSN then? -

Not quite that severe, like, though I will admit he's been winning me over since the back end of last season. He still frustrates the fuck out of me with some of the things he does on the pitch, but he must be a good character to have around the place in an age where we are completely bereft of any talismen or leaders. I'm not saying he should be an automatic starter or anything, but I think he's more than worthy of his place in the squad as it stands (especially considering the current climate we're in.) If these players aren't kept on, can people really see us attracting much better in the state we're in? What planet are people living on? We're still an attractive club to young players coming through from smaller clubs. Take a look in the Championship and you'll see plenty of players as good or better than Nicky Butt. For one example, have a look at Jack Cork. -
I doubt he did but even so, does that make what Morgan did right, then? How is it even relevant? He did exactly the same thing, but luckily Cliff Byrne didn't get a fractured skull from it. However, the injury isn't the point, it's the action. It doesn't make it right at all. I'm just pointing out that what goes around comes around. Who did Cliff Byrne elbow before that then? Funny man, pat yourself on the back.
-
Speculation, contradiction and hypocrisy all in one post. The first sentence alone is priceless. Good work. Why is it wrong to judge Ashley soley on his actions? Have you judged Keegan solely on his?
-
He hopes to have an 80% chance of keeping him? Surely he should hope for a 100% chance? Realistically, there is a 5% chance.

I just want the owner and his appointed staff to back their manager. It's not that hard is it? Tricky one. The board have an obligation to keep the club in business. If the manager comes to them asking for £200m to spend on players and wages they have to consider the overall effect on the club. I also don't think they should back JK with any transfer money.

There's a certain thing called karma. Iain Hume did the same thing to a Scunthorpe United player, but can't remember seeing that get the media attention this has.

Guardian: Shearer clears way to become Newcastle manager
Shearergol replied to thewellander's topic in Football
I think whats worse is the people who admit they don't know what went on yet are happy to turn against the club in support of an individual because of who he is. Nobody has turned against the club, the people above the manager were buying players despite the manager with experience tellign them he needed players in specfic areas was ignored. Obviously you know that for a fact I presume? As Tooj would say. I know that for a fact, cos I watch the team play and see how short we re of players in vital areas. I can tell you now that KK would not have let that happen if he was left to sign who and what he needed. Just because you think it doesn't make it a fact. Its not about thinking mate, can you seriously sit watching the match and not say to yourself "f*** me we have a thin sqaud/first team" So this then takes it back to who has been signing the players and not listening to the manaher they hired to do the job. Who the f*** signed Xisco when we needed other positions filled first. in august a new striker was one of our main priorities. So we signed a Spanish under 21 on the last day of the transfer market while ignoring LB, a play maker and couldn't find a replacement for Milner after we flogged him and still hand't tied down Owen on a new deal. Someone has seriously f***ed up. This is why KK walked. The Atouba deal fell flat the day before the transfer window closed, we signed a playmaker on loan who's now injured, we didn't get a replacement for Milner as apparently we tried to get Schweinsteiger but he turned us down and I've got doubts that Owen would sign a new contract anyway. No big deal, we just move on to getting the positions we missed out on in January. It'll be interesting that if the club gets taken over what the fans reaction will be if we don't fill every single position we need filling in one transfer window, I get the feeling people won't be making such a big song and dance about us missing out on a right back or whatever. We had the whole of january last seasona and the whole of the summer this season, we also missed out on players when Allerdyce first took over. My reaction will be the same if we get new owners in and they fail to address issues that could be addressed in one sensible transfer window. Fuck me man, how the fuck did we fail to sign Atouba, its not like he is a top player, and this fucking play maker who had never played in the prem before and he is on fucking loan from Valencia who he has never played for. Aye squad building that like. We had the whole of Keegan's holiday period too, but obviously he had better things to do. -
yeah, were desperate for someone to play half a dozen games a season. pick the ball up in the centre circle, and run diagonally to the corner flag. He would have been better than Pele, if the goals were in the corners.....or the sick room. Yep, we've certainly been better with Butt, Barton and Guthrie in midfield. My mistake.
-
We've got Gutierrez. We need Shearer, Robert, Solano and Speed. and Woodgate, Bellamy, Batty....
-
We're crying out for a Kieron Dyer in our team. Duff has offered nothing in his time at the club.
-
Get rid of Viduka, Carroll and Xisco and get Billy Sharp and Andy Keogh in. Already an improvement. At this rate we'll be playing the Championship next season anyway, so may as well start preparing.
