Not quite that severe, like, though I will admit he's been winning me over since the back end of last season. He still frustrates the fuck out of me with some of the things he does on the pitch, but he must be a good character to have around the place in an age where we are completely bereft of any talismen or leaders. I'm not saying he should be an automatic starter or anything, but I think he's more than worthy of his place in the squad as it stands (especially considering the current climate we're in.) If these players aren't kept on, can people really see us attracting much better in the state we're in? What planet are people living on? We're still an attractive club to young players coming through from smaller clubs. Take a look in the Championship and you'll see plenty of players as good or better than Nicky Butt. I just want the owner and his appointed staff to back their manager. It's not that hard is it? Tricky one. The board have an obligation to keep the club in business. If the manager comes to them asking for £200m to spend on players and wages they have to consider the overall effect on the club. I also don't think they should back JK with any transfer money.

I think whats worse is the people who admit they don't know what went on yet are happy to turn against the club in support of an individual because of who he is. The Atouba deal fell flat the day before the transfer window closed, we signed a playmaker on loan who's now injured, we didn't get a replacement for Milner as apparently we tried to get Schweinsteiger but he turned us down and I've got doubts that Owen would sign a new contract anyway. No big deal, we just move on to getting the positions we missed out on in January. It'll be interesting that if the club gets taken over what the fans reaction will be if we don't fill every single position we need filling in one transfer window, I get the feeling people won't be making such a big song and dance about us missing out on a right back or whatever.
