  1. There does seem something strange, as all of our journos seem to have shut up. That's never the case even when there's f*** all for them to report on Probably nothing in it in reality though. Most of them are away tbh.
  2. Splashed the cash in Blubambu.

    Transfer rumours

No but the Le Mans 24 was this weekend
  4. Your man in PM will not know what's going on. Believe me. I do a lot of work with PM, and other firms at that level - no one other than the very small team working on this deal will know what's going on. I was talking to a partner at PM on Friday (in a different field) - there is no way those working on this deal leak anything. Lawyers take their client confidentiality very, very seriously. Partners at PM also take over £1m+ per annum, they are not going to joerdardise their career over something like this. Don't doubt your contact may have told you stuff, it's just probably not based on reality or fact. For what it's worth I am still confident this deal is as good as done.
  5. Oh, it's happening. But someone in the recruitment team at Pinsent Masons doesn't know anything about this deal.
  6. If it did happen it's because the kid made the link between man/woman and Manchester. It wasn't social commentary. Maybe if the kid had said transchester vs womanchester. How do you know this? Luke is in France covering the womans world cup and has his kid with him, every chance it's related to womans football given the level of exposure to it his kid will be getting.
  7. Correct. Money spent on stadiums, training facilities, youth development or community projects is exempt from FFP calculations.
  8. It’s like Alan Pardew at the end. ‘So what level do you play at?’ ‘....professional...I’m in the first team’.
  9. I would prefer not. It's not exactly an easy thing to get either (at the right level that would make it worthwhile doing) - Spurs haven't managed to find anyone to sponsor their new stadium, West Ham the same.
  10. This is quite literally irrelevant. Ashley sold the land, it already had extant planning permission. The developer has just changed their mind on the development and wants to do it slightly differently hence recent engagement and new submission for EIA screening opinion to NCC. This is very normal. Whatever Ashley is doing with his Newco here, and he has many companies like this, has literally no link to Strawberry Place development being taken forward by Marrico Asset Management and Helios Investment Partners.
  11. I can’t see the stadium anywhere in that. Is it like an optical illusion type thing. Also fuckin hell that orange badge looks awful Roof patterns of the Milburn / Leazes.
  12. Many things get reported. Of course this will influence his decision.
  13. How on earth is he supposed to make a decision when he doesn't know who the f***ing owner will be? So then why did he turn down those other jobs? Because he doesn't know who the owner is going to be..... it's not hard.

    U23s & Academy

Role will have next to nothing to do with discussing things with other clubs. The role as it is in football is essentially keeping the loan players in touch with the club make sure they're eating right, sleeping right, don't have any problems etc. Working on anything they need to do so from a development perspective. Some teams (Chelsea for example) create a WhatsApp group for all their loan players to keep in touch and share experiences etc. Has definitely become more common the last couple of years. If you're doing it properly, then a proactive loans manager is researching clubs who need positions filled by players he wants to send out. He wants to know if the manager is progressive or a Proper Manager. He wants to know if he's going to be training at... somewhere better than where our reserves train. After the player goes out he needs to monitor their progress, sure. But the role was set up after the failure of several loan spells. They need someone to get our youngsters starting at the best clubs possible for each player. So they absolutely should have good contacts at lower league level. And that's not Shola. If they want to hire a guy who gives loan players a hug once a month, then don't call him a loans coordinator. How do you know Shola doesn't have good contacts? He may well have a few from his time at Fleetwood and Notts County but I doubt this role is about the contact book (though of course I am sure they will be useful), and he would be able to make the relevant contacts anyway. It is likely more about research like you alluded to. Shola is a clever and articulate bloke, and is probably better placed for a role like this than the majority of our ex players. I am not sure why people assume what he achieved (or didn't) as a player has much or a relation to his competence for this job. Good luck to him.
  15. I am pretty sure this account is a bloke.
  16. Club staff will not know anything about it, it's got nothing to do with them.
