Just called The Riverside Stadium now like. When it was first built it was widely known as 'The Cellnet'.
-
I'm on now, but it still does that white screen thing when I post, a refresh/back works though,
-
I never wear shinpads, not because I think i'm above getting injured or anything - just can't be arsed going to Sports Soccer to buy any new ones.
-
Smith was dreadful at Everton iirc. Surprised he's quit Scotland though, leaves them in the shit. Theres always Sven?
-
Shepherd will blatently be on the phone as we speak.

Disagree mate. Eboue is excellent going forward, and rightly gets praise for that. But his defending IMO is pretty poor but he manages to escape a lot of criticism due to his strengths elsewhere. Depends what you want from a fullback I suppose. Lauren can (or could pre-injury) do both brilliantly.
-
Can't believe that. Eboue is awful compared to Lauren, one of the most underrated players around. Would love him here if he's available though. Arsenal will have Hoyte, Eboue and Lauren as right back options in a couple of weeks aswell.
-
Good shout. Thought it was quite interesting how he didn't get on even when they were losing.
-
Anton Ferdinand is rubbish, really hope we don't go for him.

We're 14th. That run towards the end of the season is showing all the signs of a fluke tbh, our form pre-Feb last season is very similar to this seasons.
-
Fact is we aren't a big club anymore, so we need to take advantage of any loan deals from the big clubs with their good youngsters. When we were in the Champions League i'd never have even thought about loans, but we're a shit midtable team now, live with the reality.

Tottenham is just an area of London with a big Jewish community I think.

Loved it on Sky Sports when Richard Keys said that that Liverpool now have to beat Barcelona to stand a chance of winning any silverware. Paul Merson pissed himself.
-
Great game, Sky subscription justified!
-
Of course it does. I'm 100% sure of that, because I always watch Paddy's off-the-ball movement when the midfielders have the ball.... Quite an easy thing to do, in fairness, because the fat bugger is probably just standing still... and you can't miss him. GHoeberX is still the best WUM I've ever seen, this thread is legendary. Thing is, he's not on a wind-up.
-
Aye, absolutely can't believe he's done that. Argument won.
-
Theres one for pretty much every footballer, even pundits. 99% of them are made up. Alan Hansen's, for example, says his favourite past-time is criticising ffs.

Exactly. The experience is better in the stadium, but the better view one gets on TV. Are you thick as F*** or something? I've already told you you are wrong and have proven it. This is not about whether people who go to games can judge players better or not. Its about your own judgement at the game or your own judgement sitting at home watching TV. When assessing an individuals performance, all things being equal (ie the same person does the observing) there is no substitute for watching the player at the ground. Now F*** off. So your judgement is worst when you see in replay from 100 different angles that the ball didn't actually cross the line, or the defender didn't actually tackle the striker but the striker dived, or that was NOT an offside decision... You can see all that again in slow motion with zoomed in multi angled camera while you are standing 1000 fucking kilometers in the stand right That's why those fucking football experts have been crying out loud for video technology to be introduced to referees so as to make it easier FOR THEM TO JUDGE, ANALYSE AND MAKE THE RIGHT DECISIONS... YOU FUCK OFF YOU IDIOT... Christ on a bike, are you fucking thick on purpose?

Would probably rank as SAF's greatest title win, after the way people wrote off Man Utd and said Chelsea would dominate for years to come. Definetely.
-
They keep saying he's gonna replace Makelele, but he very, very rarely plays so how are they so sure? Makelele is about 34, not going to be around for much longer.
-
I think its Ballack rather than Shevchenko thats messed Chelsea up this season. Not denying he's a good player, but they were so successful using the 4-3-3 system with Lampard, Essien and Makelele in the middle. Now he comes in and the system has to be changed to 4-4-2, to accomodate all 4. With them all being central players it means they are really congested and only rely on the full-backs to create any width. As soon as they go to 4-3-3 they are so much better, but then its always Essien that gets thrown to RB, with Geremi being subbed off. Mourinho should have the balls to go back to that formation, leave Ballack and Shevchenko on the bench and play them when an injury/suspension/poor form arises.
-
Of course it does. I'm 100% sure of that, because I always watch Paddy's off-the-ball movement when the midfielders have the ball.... You mean he actually moves now?
-
Exactly. No-one is saying you can't make a judgment on a player you haven't seen in the flesh though. I think Ronaldinho is absolutely superb, never seen him play in person. BUT, in the case of Alberto fecking Luque, the 'armchair' fan has not seen what others see, fact.
