I would have went Shaw or Chilwell at LB and Coady for Mings(don't rate him much at all tbh) Other than that it could have been a lot worse given Southgates natural conservative approach to things. Very rare for a full team to be brimming with the best fullbacks, centre halves, midfielders and forwards a country has ever had. Even the great West German sides of the 70s had weaker areas than others. Would I want a Moore, Ferdinand,Terry or Adams available ...of course but our best centre halves are more than decent enough, if fit and in form. All in all I think we are in a decent position to push for a semi final place, we won't be we could!

I really rate James and think he may have big part to play in keeping defense solid for us (England). Have horrible feeling that Southgate is going to make pigs ear of this and we don't live up to expectations and fulfil what we should. Can't see Tuchel not 'demanding' some investment to kick the side on after the result and performance. Guy seems very driven, to say the least. Thought It was really good final, so tactically interesting with some high quality moments. Will be certainly another side competing seriously for league title next season...Who gets Kane(and I'm not sure that Man City is the best fit for him) may have big impact but I expect to see Chelsea really pushing for league next season now. Surprised at how Lincoln have folded up. Maybe the away record has a lot to do with lack of atmosphere and fans in other stadiums.
