  1. Based on nothing at all, just pure gut, but I don't see him here. I think its London bound for him imo. Really rate him but just too much noise around it all for my liking. I also rate Harvey Barnes from that side and would not mind us looking at him..but all depends on top 6 I suppose.
  2. Used to be the way I saw things (not being overtly pessimistic either) but I genuinely believe things have changed and now I think it’s likely we will win something before I depart for tother side. For the best part of a decade and a half we asked (rightly so) for a club that tried, not from expectations or demands of success (let’s leave that to those self entitled “fans” of certain other clubs), but from aspirations of wanting to be the best we can be. We now have ownership that allows us to believe this may be possible. That the decades of mismanagement and poor decision making that saw clubs who were inferior to us (historically) outpace us in the 60s, 70s is over. We have a club that cares again, that in some ways matches our aspirations and dreams. We have the best, or certainly one of the best, young managers at the club at the right moment for both us and him. I expected to not win today. Not from a doom and gloom perspective, but because our team and wider squad at the moment is inferior to the opposition we were facing and from the viewpoint of we have been hugely overachieving so far this season. Looking at it pragmatically two other clubs of equal status and something alike in in history as well have gone through what we have. Both involved then being bought by wealthy backers/owners and they both turned their histories of being clubs who lost rather than win things around. I genuinely believe we will too in time. We should be very proud of what we did to get to this final. Disappointed? Of course but better times are ahead for us and our quite simply amazing fanbase. Howay the lads and well done to everyone at the match today. Awesome support for the best club from the best city in England.
  3. Yeah quite enjoyable trip for the Arsenal final (football aside). Man Utd one less so and semi final was just frustrating all round ?
  4. True must be a few thousand of us 'Jonahs'! Was thinking of my dad as I wrote it, he would be chuckling to himself if still with us. "What do you mean you have seen us lose cup finals!". Him and his generation of mates would have thought it almost unthinkable after the victorious years they saw. Hopefully the younger ones amongst our supporters now will get to experience something akin to those levels of success. HTL
  5. Struggling to get cover at work as i'm rostered on as senior for the weekend Hoping someone takes pity but looking unlikely. Hope everyone has a blast, enjoy the occasion and atmosphere (stay safe - sound like me dad saying that) and scream and sing us to a victory! Hope its as good as we all hope for. Had considered doing a 'Likely Lads' but think that'll be impossible. Maybe best if I don't watch tbh...current score is 4 finals watched :TV 74,76 attended 98, 99 ( and semi in 00) and I'm four/five for zero as our American friends may say HTL
  6. Yeah I see 5/6 as most likely which is waaay ahead of what I thought we would achieve this season. solid summer window and then look to solidify top 6 next season and I’m a happy camper. Our club (how good is it to be able to say that again ?) is headed in the right direction Though giving a shit again plays havoc on the nerves! Forgot what it was to care
  7. For £20-£25m I guess that’s the going rate for young British PL players so not too upset by the price tag. Wouldn’t have been my first choice but I’m not Eddie Howe not seen enough of Gordon to make the same judgement he/they are. If it goes through hope the lad fits in well and is willing to learn from a far superior coach and manager than what he has been used too
  8. Yeah well then can 'want' away!
  9. Rather face City than Manure. Get the impression they would want/need it more and they are the spawniest fuckers out there as well. My favoured option is Southampton at home in semis second leg and City in final.
  10. Has feel of ‘we will rue these missed chances’ about it
  11. Loss by one maybe two goals for me, but in perspective they seem to be real contenders for the title (alongside Man City imo). Any sort of result would be magnificent, and obviously we are well ahead of expectations for this season already so won't be too upset when (if) we lose. Would be great if we had a fit Wilson available to get at their back four. Think 1-0 is most likely result.
  12. Everton fan at work saying Calvert-Lewin for £35m or is this Giggs?
  13. Decent start by Belgium, in midfield at least...but awful finishing and lack of desire in the box so far. Pelanty to Croats
  14. That 82 Brazil side was simply awesome. Great to watch and full of pure talent. France probably peaked in 84 at the Euros? - wonderful midfield.
