Newcastle United vs. Everton - 19/10/22 @ 7:30pm (Amazon Prime)
George Bailey replied to HaydnNUFC's topic in Football
Draw 1-1 for me. Much improved and more organized Everton of late, coupled with key offensive gaps for us due to injuries. if we had been at full strength I would fancy a win. -
Need Howe to lift him after this. His confidence will be in his boots after that whole performance not just the massive rick at the end. Thankfully Eddie is just the man to get him back on top form

Given a good window in January, and big push with some fortune re injuries etc and we could be in with a shout. Personally can't see it and think 10th/9th is more likely this season. Slow progress with the hope we make more significant strengthening of the first team and squad in the summer for a real crack at top 8 (7th-5th) next season. Lots can go wrong, but lots could go right too.

Fulham vs. Newcastle United - 1/10/22 @ 3pm (No UK TV)

Draw 1-1 or 2-2 -
Solid and much improved (obviously) 7/10 for this window. Very happy with quality of acquisitions and personnel but feel we are light in overall squad depth putting us at slight risk. Just a wee bit worried that failure to progress this season (if it happens) may lead to challenges around keeping Wilson, Bruno ASM for instance come next season, and our inability to strengthen the squad depth may be a factor in progression and an issue that bites us if injuries hit us in particular. All in all happy but worrying. Och I’m just a miserable old git

What are your minimum expectations for this season? (2022/23)
George Bailey replied to Rich's topic in Football
Minimum was the key word for me. With what we have at our disposal and how we performed last season looking at top 10 but 10th is the minimum we should be achieving in my opinion. Think top 6 is way out of our reach given how well some above us have recruited or not lost players. Eddie does that and he’s a genius… (with the proviso we don’t go big in transfers in remaining days of window) -
Done for you

For me these guys stand out with Tony being my first hero. Tony Green, would have been ranked up with the greats but for the injury (played at wrong time, nowadays you recover from his injury and have a career) what a player. He had it all. Supermac. Was simply an idol. Lethal. Beardsley, without a doubt over a prolonged period he is the best I have seen for us (sustained). The guy was genius (and wasn't even the most gifted Beardsley apparently! I saw his brother playing 5 a sides years later and what a player he was!) Ginola. Possibly the most naturally gifted player (to date!) I have seen for us. My favourite player of recent years however was Scott Sellars! Go figure! Just loved the bloke.

Think you saw the official with his arm in the air. No sign of subbed lad (no 20) doing anything I could see.

To be fair Bellingham is quality.

Was utterly terrifying experience that day. Herded into pens that the police and stewards refused to then open the next parts of resulting in thousands of us in areas meant for half the volume of people and huge overcrowding. The crushing was awful. Bairns and younger ones being passed down and over the fencing until the laughing and baying police opened up the other pens. Lads underneath the spurs sitting parts being coined and piss hurled on them. I asked one police officer to open up the gates and he just rattled the cage saying you northern monkeys are getting what’s coming to you. Flipping terrifying.
