I was never really able to divorce the game from the wider issues, I know many can and do. just watch the 90 mins and go home, not really interested or particularly bothered in the other things. (The wider state of the club, its links to the community, the stadium, direction, ambition etc) For me 'we' have always been more than the 90 mins, more than just the game of football. thats why this regime is so soul destroyingly evil and pernicious.

I remember being twatted by a copper through the fence/gates dividing the paddocks becaue me n my mate asked him why the hell they werent opening them up. Plus that idiot 'Alf Garnett' character running onto the pitch to gee up the crowd and I'm sure calling us northern monkeys... Then seeing our fans in the corner getting pelted by coins from the fab Spurs fans...Oh the joys of 70s and 80s footlball.

I think if people have tickets it will be better to turn up and have a go at Pardew. A few staying away will not lead to any awkward questions, calling for Pardew to go will. Not sure I agree with you on this on Mick. I think any protests in the ground will be met with the same shite as Rob Shepperd was bleating on about...'know your place' type crap and the 'oh just another set of ungrateful fans turning on a manager'. Whereas an orchestrated non attendance with a cowd of less than 20k, ebven better if people went to the ground and either walked out at kick off or stood outside, would send a massive message about the depth of feeling re the clubs whole plight, not just our idiot of a manager. Always want us to win. Always wanted all our managers that are appointed to be the one to bring success, our owners/board/chairman/DOF to be the ones to lead us to trophies and victories and devloping our club as a whole and as a football team on the filed.................. However if we are to lose (which I think we will), then let it be a hammering. Let it be another nail in the coffin or small step to us getting rid of the current incumbents of the positions mentioned above who are doing the very opposite to what I have always longed for them to do for our club.
